I don't know if there are any others, but in King's Lynn (Norfolk) there is a Startrite factory shop selling kids shoes. I've never as far as I can remember paid more than £15 for a pair. I was in there today actually, the sales assistant last week sold me the wrong size shoes for my son because she didn't account for his insoles he has to wear. Spoke to a different person and she remeasured him, found a new pair, checked really thoroughly that they were the right size, and swapped them free of charge. They had some lovely girls boots for £10-15 a pair, and a clearance rail of slightly scruffy looking shoes for £2.50-£5. The shoes are all rejects, but I've never had a problem with condition, and my son's worn them all his life. The only thing is they don't always have a great choice, but I must have saved a fortune over the years compared to Clarks prices. Worth checking out if you're in the area.

If the assistant remembers her buying them isnt that good enough proof that she has only just bought them?

You would think so wouldn't you, but the deputy manageress insisted that they can't give a refund without a receipt for their records, it's what head office insist on  in other words she doesn't want to.

You don't need a receipt only proof of purchase, and someone who works there saying they knew you bought them must be the best proof possible !
