i know it's a bit premature but I'm taking this opportunity to wish all who advise or call on this sub-board a happy, prosperous and PPC 'fine'-free new year.
I argue that this board ranks as one of the most important on MSE; those who have called by and followed the well-founded advice, resisted the bullying, threatening communications from the wild west 'people who round up horses' PPC's and have saved a fair wedge (and the no. is growing) have cause to be grateful.
I discovered this board after I got into a stress 3 months ago, having received an empty threat from a PPC. I'm a law-abiding type. I don't park in supermarket spaces reserved for disabled/ parent-and-child'; I drive around until I find a normal space becomes available.
my 'crime' was to overstay 24mins in a max.2hr park; my fault, my responsiblity. but a £70 'fine' got me seriously p***** off.
so I came here. admittedly, I was a bit doubtful about the advice offered (as said, I follow the rules; after 30yrs of motoring the only hit I've ever taken was a fixed penalty fine for no-wearing of seat belt in '86) but the more I researched this 'industry' the clearer it got that it's predicated on nothing more than 'menace'.
1st reaction : disbelief that in the 21st century this 'industry' exists in the UK
2nd; unbridled fury.
3rd: vengeance
4th; respect and gratitude to the regulars on here (you know who you are) who calmed me down (everybody from the cat to shop assistants felt my 'stress' before I called by).
a happy new yr to all excl. PPC's; I can only reciprocate yr lack of goodwill to all men - at this time of yr or any other..

Yes a happy new year to all who help to give advice to people who have been intimidated by bully-boy PPCs. We know we are making a difference, lets hope that in 2011, private contractors will know better than to 'fine' people.Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!0

Happy New Year to all, 2011 promises to be the downfall of a lot unethical ppcs, well we can hope
and clamping made illegal on private land ! Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Happy New Year to all, lets hope this year brings the introduction of the clamping ban as promised, and the further demise, or the end of, or the regulation, [official] of the PPC's.0

Happy New Year all!
Hope the message gets spread further in 2011 because if enough retailers get complaints about allowing their paying customers to be threatened by debt collectors for a fake 'fine' then the PPCs will soon be kicked out of many car parks.
How about we devise a complaint letter template for retailers, as a sticky in 2011, and direct people to use it every time? That's where we will hurt PPCs, by targeting the retailers.
:TPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Good idea C-M. Have you volunteered? Do a nice job and I will send you my latest invention that magically transforms a PPC 'fine' into a piece of bog roll. Clever eh?Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!0

C-M I worry that you have spent too much time dealing with PPC issues and have learned a few their tricks. Is this demand for a a high viz jacket enforceable? Will you send me a CCJ if I fail to deliver the goods? I have one high-viz available from our Wolverhampton office but it is rather large and has a few steak and kidney pie stains on it. Will that do?Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!0

All my demands are enforceable, anyone who reads my posts enters into a contract to pay me £75 (there's a hidden invisible 'notice' part on my signature that becomes apparent when I send out my first threatogram).
And no, who do you think I am, offering me Perky's cast-offs! Nothing but a new high-vis jacket will do (and you still have to pay me the £75 per post...).:DPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

C-M I would seek to enforce a Norwich Pharmacal Order and insist on BB stating were the new Hi-Viz are stored.0
