Having posted what has happened regarding due dates that fall in December, I cannot for the life of me understand why people are so preoccupied as to whether the payment will be a few days early or even a couple of days late.
This is Christmas & New Year - everything generally goes to pot!
What is so fascinating in finding out when your payments are to arrive? It's not as though you are not going to get them.
I replied to a thread a week or so ago after postings timed at 2, 3 & 5 am Christmas Morning were asking the same question. They were actually checking their bank balances at that unholy hour! Do they not have a life to live or something? The British public never cease to amaze me.0 -
well maybe you should not go out of your way to reply and offer your opinion on it if you don't like it0

I only asked a simple question ...you can see by the title what is was .
If you are not going to help then dont respond.0 -
Were not fascinated about when payments are going to be made, we just like to know whats going on with them. When it comes to the DWP and HMRC, things dont neccessarily always happen the way they say it will. For example, i wasnt expecting tomorrows tax credits to go in last Friday as someone at the HMRC told me they would remain as normal due to tomorrow not being a bank holiday blah blah blah....so when i checked my bank balance on Friday i was very surprised to find that they had infact been paid in early!!! Weve all got bills to pay and most of us have got kids to feed so its nice to know whats going on regarding payments cos sometimes if youre not careful, things can go wrong when payments are being messed up. And the reason i was asking if my partners DLA could go in early is simply due to the fact that my 2 year old daughter turned our fridge freezer off, we didnt know about it til the next morning and all our xmas food shopping has gone off so could do with it being paid in early. if it doesnt, im sure we will manage but thats besides the point. And yes, we have got better things to do with our time but theres no harm in asking questions is there????0

Did you not manage to save any of the food? Once food has been defrosted and cooked (for example if you defrost mince and make chilli) you can re freeze again. Or was it a freezer full of ready meals?murtle1981 wrote: »the fact that my 2 year old daughter turned our fridge freezer off, we didnt know about it til the next morning and all our xmas food shopping has gone off so could do with it being paid in early.
Depending on how full the freezer is, produce can remain frozen for 24 hours or more if the freezer was turned off. The more full the freezer, the longer the contents will remain frozen.*SIGH*

we managed to salvage half of what we had but some things were completely ruined. We had mince, fresh chicken, beef etc that we have been able to make into meals and re freeze so it wasnt a complete loss but considering that we are a family of five, the food that we did lose could have seen us through til next wednesday (shopping day). Some of our fridge stuff was ruined too like chocolate mousses for the kids etc0
