Ive looked as well at that link but i cant work out if we will get Tax Credits early as our Payment date is due on the 4th Jan but we live in England so does that mean that as its Bank holiday in scotland then we will get it on the 31st?
so if there is a bank holiday anywhere in the uk and your payment date falls on that bank holiday even if the bank holiday is not in england then we get it early??
is that right?0 -
According to the link England would be 4th January0

Hi all, hope you all had a nice Christmas! My child tax payment wasnt due til tomorrow (29th) and tomorrow is not a bank holiday in England yet i got this weeks tax credits last week on the 24th! I rang HMRC as i was a bit puzzled about this because tomorrow is only a bank holiday in Northern Ireland and they told me that my payment had gone in early as its something to do with my bank (im with the Halifax). So now im wondering if my partners DLA will go in on the 31st as its due next Tuesday (4th Jan) which is a bank holiday in Scotland! Any ideas anyone????? Ive had my tax credits etc go in a day early during the year when theres been a bank holiday in Scotland or Northern Ireland so i wouldnt be surprised if thats the case again!!!0

ps- rang DWP regarding Income Support payments over Christmas period. Any payments due to be paid on 27th, 28th OR 29th, will be paid in early. Didnt expect them to be making payments for the 29th early but they are. Advisor said something about it being a close down day for the DWP, they are working but not processing new claims, payments etc.0

DWP payments were made available on the 24th for due dates, 27th, 28th and 29th.
Payments due on 30th will be paid on that date.
The reason why the 29th was paid early is simply because in the Civil Service they have 3 days holiday at Christmas. So, 27th & 28th are in lieu of Christmas Day and Boxing Day, and the 29th is the extra day that they take off. Been like that for years and years!
The Civil Service go back to work on the 30th. They work the 31st, then don't go back in until the 4th.
However, for the 30th & 31st they will only have a skeleton staff in as most Civil Servants this year finished on the 24th and are off until the 4th.0 -
Will just have to check post office on friday lol

I have payments paid into my bank. Been having a look at the link that someone posted and that says that if theres a bank holiday anywhere in UK, it doesent matter, you should still get your payment early. Is that the same for DWP and HMRC????0
