Hi, I have downloaded the removal tool, copied it to CD(on laptop) & then put CD into CD ROM, but it won't play. Any other ideas would be gratefully received.0

You don't 'play' the CD as such. You need to put the CD in, open My Computer, right-click on the CD drive and select 'Explore.' When the removal tool icon appears double-click on it to execute.

Thanks for that-Ran the scan but it can't locate this particular virus, I'm sure it's there somewhere!
The link does state that if the removal tool can't find the virus, to re-start in safe mode & scan again.
When I re-start in safe mode, & click onto 'my computer', the cd-rom option isn't there?
Is there a way I can access the cd whilst in safe mode?
ALSO, I removed Kaspersky & am now able to get on-line!0 -
Boot normally, copy the removal tool file from the CD to a folder on your C drive (e.g. create a folder like C:\Temp). Rebbot to safe mode, browse to the C:\Temp folder and run the tool from there.
