Hi Folks
I have recently bought an Epson SX415 printer and connected it to my desk top. I have a Packard Bell machine. However, when I press the print button to print a document, nothing happens!
As far as I know, I have connected up the printer in the proper way and switch it on (!).
When I pressed the control panel to go into my devices, it does state that there are 5 items in the queue to be printed - since I attempted to print the document (in Word) 5 times! However, it also states that the printer needs trouble shooting!
Any ideas how I can rectify the problem?
Thanks in advance for any advice offered.

Did you install the drives/software then connected the printer up, is the device that the print jobs are going to the printer, is the printer on line and the default device?0

You will need to clear the print queue0

I take it you have installed the drivers, clear the print queue, it is turned on0

Hi Folks
I have downloaded the drivers, but I don't know if I have done this correctly, since the printer still does not print.
I then downloaded the driver again (although I would have thought it would have given me a message saying that I have already downloaded.
I then got a message saying something about connecting to the printer ports.
Does anyone know what that is about?
Do you think I have actually downloaded the driver correctly?
Is there any other software that I need to download?
Thanks in advance for any advice.0 -
what operating system are you using?
taking that its windows - try goimg to START - Printers and Faxes
How many printers (icons) are displayed. if there is more than one, then the wrong printer (or even the image writer) may be set as the default printer.
If the other printers don't exist, (as you may have tried to install on a different USB or printer port - and each time may have added another printer by accident) then that could be causing problemsDon't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0 -

id uninstall the drivers by using control panel and start again as it could confuse the machine,
to install the drivers all you do is insert the cd then do a few clicks and they're installed, if your not sure have you followed the instructions
the only software to download is on the cd provided with the printer0 -
During installation Epson printers do not like to be switched on until you see (usually) a blue box in the top left of the screen
May be better to clear the print queue then unistall anything you added for the printer, keep the printer off, then install from the CD or the latest drivers will be on the Epson site

Keep the CD as Epson do not provide any third party software which may be on the disc
There are a number of sites which supply compatible cartridges, a few here

RTFM, real men don't read manuals unless it goes horribly wrong and the wife is standing behind you with the de structions saying "have you done what is says on page 2 have do tried this on page 4" and for some sodding reason she is always right grrrrrrrr0 -
Hi Folks
Just a bit more info about my problem -
I am using Windows 7 and there are 4 printer icons in the control panel sub menu. The correct printer is set as the default and I downloaded the print driver from the Epson website and when it still wouldn't print, I downloaded it from the CD which was provided when I bought the printer.
Any further advice will be greatly appreciated.0
