Hi Snowdenlily what a creep of an ex you have you are well rid of him, sounds like he has a big problem and is probably jealous that you are getting on with your life without him. As for cheshire oaks i live just up the road from it but dont get many bargins from it. Enjoy your toffee crisps especially with a cup of tea.

Hope the Toffee Crisp did the trick!
  • Yes, thank you maman, the Toffee Crisp did the trick, but today, I know why I was having those Toffee Crisp cravings ;)

Amber - I saved quite a bit on ski clothes and thermals etc for DS3 at Cheshire Oaks, but nothing really caught my eye for me (thank goodness!).

The only shop where I could've done some serious damage was the Le Creuset shop. They had some gorgeous things there and I nearly bought some soup tureens, but managed to rein myself in (just!).

Another lovely day today - I met BF's sister, then went and had a look around some charity shops - no bargains to be had tho'.

We have an important day tomorrow. BF has his appt with the CAB Debt Counsellor at long last. I'm going with him, but may not be able to stay in the room when he has his interview, so if that happens, I'll go for another mooch around the charity shops. You never know I might come across something fabulous (I never do, but live in hope!).

I really feel for him, not only did his wife cheat on him, but she left him with over £26k of debt which he knew nothing about and there's nothing he can do about it. Its all in his name, so she gets away scot free! I was a bit sceptical at first when he told me he knew nothing about it, but he really didn't know she'd taken out all this credit in his name. She used to hide the post, and he was so trusting, he never suspected a thing. At least now, he's trying to get himself sorted, but I worry sometimes that I'm nagging him too much to sort things out - I just know he can't have this hanging over his head for the rest of his life :(

On a lighter note, I have a confession to make......... I bought this months Cosmo and a lovely fudge coloured nail polish by Bourjois but I don't really think hormonal spending should count as a spend :D:D

There's a free diet book with the mag called "Neris & India's Idiot Proof Diet", so I did get a freebie out of it and the book sounds exactly like what I need :D

Hope everyone else had a good Monday. Just tomorrow then its back to work for me! If I'm honest, I'll be glad to go back. All I do here is eat!

  • Back at work today, thank goodness, I was becoming a bit stir crazy and a bit too close to the biscuit barrel :o

Its a nice day here, but v.v.cold.

I was aiming for a NSD today, but saw some Covent Garden Soups on special offer so bought the Chicken Soup for my lunch - I had no business going into the supermarket when I didnt need anything :o

I won't be eating it again though, special offer or not. Have you seen how many calories in a carton?

I should've read the carton BEFORE eating the soup!

We had a productive day at the CAB yesterday. The young man we saw thinks BF is an ideal candidate for an IVA. He has to wait for an appt to see the lady who sets up the IVA now. Seems to be a long drawn out process, but at least he's moving in the right direction. You could from his face after the appt that its already a huge load off his mind.

I posted a question on the ebay thread about my "problem". I've had a couple of very helpful answers. One suggested changing my ID, the other said that you can have two different ebay accounts using the same paypal account. I think I'll probably just change my ID, that way I can keep all my good feedback.

I wish I could think of something fabulous to sell on ebay, that nobody else has thought of yet (I know! So does everyone else!). The extra cash would be a lifesaver. Sooner or later I'm going to run out of stuff to sell so I need to get my thinking cap on sharpish :(

Nothing much else to report really. Monday can't come soon enough (payday :j).

Oh yes, I forgot - my old boss finally paid me the £108 he owes me so that can go into my back-up fund.

Another £27 made on ebay last night and everything posted this morning.

BF coming round for dinner, but as tonight is Harrison Ford night again, he'll have to watch Indiana Jones with me, but I'm sure he won't mind ;)

Time for a coffee I think. Its deathly quiet in the shop today. No good at all :(:(

  • Just opened a second ebay account. I decided new start, new account.

I know I'll have to start again from scratch, but its a small price to pay for peace and quiet. Its not like I'm a business seller, so its not really a problem building up new feedback. I'll just carry on as before :)

I'll keep the other account open and once the items I have listed are all sold, I'll just use that account for buying (not that I hope I'll be doing much buying!).

Both accounts are listed to the same paypal account.

My new username is completely random, so hopefully he won't be able to track me down :)

Hope you're all having a nice evening x

well done - think you made the right decision on ebay and feedback wont take long to build up again! x
Life is what you make it.
  • Hi there, I was going to say even if you change the name on Ebay there is still a way of putting the old ID in and finding out it has changed so you have done the right thing here. I have had a good run on ebay the last few weeks, sold kids DSIs as one outgrown and the other had the XL one for xmas, goto £86 and £92!!!!! I cannot believe people will pay that much for second hand goods, just sold a second hand xbox tonight for £82 also - I am in shock!! I too wish I could find a good product to sell on ebay as it is just so easy - I do think their fees have increased a lot though.

Glad CAB was productive - can't BF prove ex took credit in his name without his knowledge?? Its just awful that he has been left in this mess.

Been to see Convicted at cinema tonight, two for one on Orange Wednesday (very MSE)!! It was absolutely brilliant.

    xx

Glad things are getting back to normal for you SL. That was very good of you to help BF get sorted, pleased he got good advice. Now you've sorted ebay you can sell, sell, sell!

On the subject of things that sell well. My DH was selling somthing that appealed to family historians (is there a yawn smiley??:D) They were CDs that sold like hot cakes, all perfectly legal. He stopped in the end because he was afraid the taxman would be after him. So you can't win really.

I can see you would imagine that something as 'healthy' as Covent Garden soup might be low calorie but it's often to do with all the oil and stuff they cook with it. I've been very aware of this since starting SW. Your best bet (and very MSE) is to make your own with loads of low cal veg.

Hope you enjoyed Harrison Ford and that BF didn't mind you drooling;)
  • Helloooooooo there, hope all is well and look forward to your next update x
  • Hiya, just been reading your diary and wanted to say well done on everything you have achieved so far and good luck for all things yet to come!

I separated from my partner just over a year ago and although i instigated the split, it's still tough going! I also endured endless petty games and felt like i was being judged (mainly by his family) on my ability as a single mother (i have 3 daughters), they were waiting for me to fail.

Like you, i learnt to rise above the games, and all the judgment and watching just spurs you on to be the best you can be.

I'm sorry for rambling but i felt inclined to write and tell you what a fab job your doing! I will be reading with great interest.

    xx
