    I think what you mean is that DWP is counting them as Bank Holidays. 27th and 28th December are not officially Bank Holidays in the UK. The banks are not shut. Therefore I do not see why a payment due in my bank account today would be held up (as presumably they'd have remitted it last week, before Christmas anyway?). I'm really confused!

    No I don't think that is what he means, what he means is that 27th Dec and 28th Dec ARE both bank holidays. That isn't a DWP thing or even a bank thing its just a fact that they are bank holidays!

  • I have NEVER had Christmas Eve off in all my years working for a Local Authority unless I had booked it as Annual leave, it is not a 'day off' afaik.
