what is it with...
The majority of car drivers who either have:-
A) No mirrors attached at all
folded in because of parking etc
C) facing the wrong way and too lazy to adjust
This is one of my pet hates with the majority of motorists. Too many rely on the "rear" view mirror on the inside of the windscreen and fail to use the mirrors that are attached to the side of the car.
Do people realise they serve a purpose or are they deluded to the fact that they are shiny accesories to "bling" up their motor?.
Why do people rely so much on the interior mirror? I never use mine at all when driving as i was trained to use my side mirrors for a better field of view. Also HGV/buses don't have the luxury of interior mirrors!.
Maybe if people used their side mirrors more effectively half of the road accidents that happen would have been avoided as they would have seen the other vehicle

I agree. I use mine a lot, some of our roads are very tight and you need to know if there's a cyclist coming up alongside.
Mine are electric and I tilt them when parking in tricky places too, like outside my house.
I very rarely fold them in overnight, which is a bit daft really as they could get a hit.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

I couldn't imagine driving without them.
When in a HGV/Bus they become your life line so i've adjusted my driving in a car to that standard too.
If people used them then half of the "pulling out" accidents would be avoided as one glance in the mirror would have spotted the approaching car.If Adam and Eve were created first

I thought that bus drivers only checked their offside mirror after pulling out.. :rotfl:

Never seen that myself but yeah i get ya.
It's strange really, Before i joined the industry i hated bus drivers with a passion.
I've done it on-off for 11 years now. There is so much that goes on behind public eyes it's untrue, even my job role tbh, think blakey from on the buses but much more advanced.
We've got 124 double deckers and 64 single deckers. We go through 4 diesel tankers a week!! not even my local garage uses that much lolIf Adam and Eve were created first

I think folded in mirrors when parking are less liable to be vandalised. people are less likely to break them off if they have to unfold them first.0

That i can understand but the issue is so many drivers then drive off with them still folded in and forget thay are attached to the car.
Even on this site i bet so many drivers solely rely on the inside mirror and rarely check the o/s n/s mirrors
It's a habit that you get into and until you take a higher advanced test say in a HGV/BUS where the inside mirror deosn't exist, you then really appreciate the importance of side mirrorsIf Adam and Eve were created first

I go one step further. I check my mirrors and blind spot. Too many people pull away after checking their door mirror but not their blind spot. You can't see a car passing you in your door mirrors.0

My motorbike doesnt even have an inside, far less an inside mirror. The works transits dont have them either.
However, my car does and I use it as much as every other mirror as well as a look over my shoulder when needed.0
