O2 Charging for discount accidentally left on the previous month on mobile contract??

Hi, I was previously on an O2 discounted contract (Paying £20 a month instead of £35), at the end of the 18 month contract they stopped providing discounts unless you upgraded and hassled them to get another "loyalty discount", and the contract would go back to £35 a month with no warning/email whatsoever. However they still only charged me £20 on the 19th month but then charged me £50 on the 20th month (The £35 standard contract price + the £15 discount they forgot to cancel on the 19th month).

I was wondering if they are even allowed to do this, as it was their fault for not taking the money, as well as not giving me any warning that the discount would be cancelled? I have since left them for Vodafone

As far as I am aware they do not have to advise you at the end of your contract term that the discount is no longer being given, as..... its a discount.
Essentially you were still being billed for £35 every month during the contract, but O2 were paying £15 for you. If they increased the price of the tariff, then yes they are obligued to inform you.
