Oh no, found a cutlery set even cheaper for more on amazon than debenhams. Have enough birthday money for it so I think I'm about to cave in for it - then that's all sale, treat and present shopping done for the next 4 weeks - until mum's birthday present after next payday!

ETA - ordered, too good to miss and I'm going to have this for a long long time. Should be here on Friday, will let you know how it is. Just spending the money my lamp cost that has to go back as its faulty

    Well done fedup :D

My brother called to tell me how much he liked the chocolates I made for christmas... so I've asked for polycarbonate moulds for my birthday so they're easier to make in future :D

Still digging up evidence to support my conclusions ;)
  • Well done to you too greenbee :D- I had some good feedback too on what I made for christmas - picallili, cakes and biscotti and fudge so far.

If only I could knuckle down and study too - will make a start tomorrow and stay off the pooter more than today

  • We've had a lovely evening with friends, but as DH now has the whisky out, I've decided on a early night :o

Off to find some data to support the research paper I've just written :p well you know what they say, there are lies, d*mn lies and statistics :D

Thay must have changed the rules; when I wrote research papers you were expected to get the data first  :p

Pud - it is a 2000 110 defender TD5. I don't understand the rest of the words :o. Apparently it was the dreaded 'grub screw' falling off or something last time and DH says it is probably that again. Basically when you you try and put it in gear nothing at all happens and you are stuck in neutral, like it isn't connected to anything. Luckily this time he lost 5th but managed to push it into 4th, and we could use high/low diff to take off on junctions so got home ok. Should know more tomorrow as we managed to get the garage to take it tomorrow instead of waiting till Tuesday.

Ohh, OK, you'd think they'd put thread lock compound on it.

Good luck with it, they're a God send when the weather is bad.

We are quite lucky, we have an old Disco 200 1990, so most of the work gets done by us.
We got our DS1 to weld a new floor in during the summer, great fun.

How many do you have Pen Pen? Today was down to 2 again but I guess half of that was because it's not really got light at all today. It seems they are really affected by the weather - just like me!

you were probably doing academic research ;) And possibly not producing 2 papers a month...

I've got the data, I just need to present it in a way that supports my position (which is just that the paper needs to be written, all the important stuff has supporting evidence). The stuff I'm doing at the moment isn't new, its more basic explanatory stuff, repeating what has been said before. I do have some actual research to for Q2 though

A fairly productive day - two papers have gone for peer review today. Need to get the next two lined up to go in a fortnight, and the rest of the production line prepared so that I have some time to do my research for the new material at some point! Need to sort out a few collaborations too, as they're so much more productive, once people get the hang of it.

CBA to empty the DW or clear up, so will save that for a displacement activity tomorrow. 40 minutes to spend on writing before the router goes off, then bed :D

We have 5 hens at present ;) They're highly strung pure bred, though. look lovely, but the first sign of poor weather and they stop laying :rotfl:

Are yours cross breed? They tend to be much more reliable layers.

  • sockdrawer - good luck for DH for tomorrow. My DH has to listen to radio 2 when he has his scans. Doesn't have a choice and that's private healthcare! lol.

Greenbee - thanks for the advice.

I should be in bed but I'm really resenting having to go to work tomorrow. I think I've got the poor me's? Oh well, at least I'll get that nice feeling again when I finish tomorrow knowing that I'm not in until Tuesday. Wow I turned that round from half empty to half full!!!!!

    It's good to share :p
