Fitting a cassette woodburning stove

We want to fit a cassette woodburning stove, but the fire place has a backboiler fitted that has been disconected by the gas people who fitted our new boiler in the attic.
The boiler will be removed and our friend who works for a heating company is going to disconnect the gas pipe that works the fire, when this is done it is going to leave a very large hole in the fireplace.
Please could some one tell us how to rebuild and what to do, so that the stove can be slotted in, we want to do the building bit ourselves and have the heating chap fit the stove, this will help us save on costs and we really need to.
Thanks for any constructive help.

There must be better ways of disposing of your cassettes.

Your question is a very difficult one to answer seriously. There are so many insets and so many fireplaces that you can't give instructions on what needs to be done. It just isn't that straight forward.
I'd suggest you read the building regs and the manufacturers installation manual and figure it out from there. If you can't suss it out from that maybe you should pay the man to do the building work.
Every job is different and needs to be tackled in a different way and make and model of inset can make a huge difference on how it needs to be installed. Hence why we always use the Stovax Riva insets as they're incredibly easy to install compared to other insets.0
