My problem is that my knee does not track properly so it dislocates when I walk, I also have Epstein Barr which is the virus that causes ME and Glandular fever so just getting out of bed is a major achivement.
So in reality your answer should be: "No I can't walk without someone supporting me, or someone to hang on to."
Think of how politicians answer/sidestep questions and you won't go wrong;) .

If you get turned down - then appeal straight away. It's usually not worthwhile asking for a reconsideration, as this just holds up any appeal, and when the DWP recieve your notice of appeal, the claim is referred to another decision maker anyway to see if the decision to reject the claim seemed the correct one.
Before you appeal, I would contact the CAB and they will point you in the right direction to get a WRO to help you.
But, most claims sail through (forums are usually about the ones that don't), so good luck with the medical exam.

I've just got back from my medical, I had a really nice doctor who put me at ease. I was asked about my illnesses and what medication I'm on, he also asked questions about my daily routine. My advice to anyone going to a medical is just be honest as I feel there are a few 'trick' questions, for example I was asked how long I can sit for and then a few questions later he asked me what my favourite tv programme was ( I feel he was testing how long I could really sit for) Good luck to anyone else who has a medical soon, it really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.Tesco: £1361.19, Vanquis: £2644.73, Very: £563.08, Next: £1636.95, M&S: £1049.92. Glad to hear you have got it over with - its such a relief once its over, and it sounds like you had a sympathetic doctor which is a rareity!
I have a feeling I will get called for a medical soon - my IB50 form was sent in 3 weeks ago so should hear within the next month or so - probably just before christmas!Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
Got letter saying that my incapcity will be stopped if I don't fill in the form in 2 weeks. Will do this tomorrow... What a stress. Oh gosh sorry to hear that - get some help filling it in - the CAB or Welfare Rights service should be able to help. Fill it in as you are on your worser days - ie. dont look on the bright side and say that you can do things if you cant repeat them again - if you cant repeat them or do anything else say that!
Good Luck!Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
It is not correct to fill the form in on your worst days, it should be an average day.0

I sent my IB50 and Med4 in about 6 weeks back. My sick note is due to run out this week and I am normally sent a reminder letter telling me when to get one for. I telephoned IB last week and asked when I should send in a new sick note. I was told I will not have to send any more in until I am told to.
What exactly does this mean? Am I going for a medical or not?0 -

Please don't quote me in case I'm wrong, but when my husband was told he didn't have to send in any more sick notes, it meant he had 'passed the threshold' of incapacity. I think if they have told you that, then you don't need to go for a medical.
Ring them up again and ask them to explain fully (if you haven't had a letter by now).(AKA HRH_MUngo)
