Does anyone have this experience, one lady was trying to open my door then i went to open the door, she said 'really sorry i' am embarrassed i thought this is my friend's house'. I let her off, did i have to ask her id or called the police to enquire more.
what would you do if you were me.

These days I would have kept my locked door firmly closed and waited for her to go away. One never knows who is lurking closeby! To Dare is To Do:beer:0

if it were her friend's house surely she would have known it well enough not to make that mistake. if said friend had recently moved she shouldn't be trying to get in as clearly she wasn't sure it was friends house.

I had a drunken neighbour try this around 2 in the morning a couple of months ago, I heard someone trying a key in the door for a couple of minutes then it progressed to someone shoulder barging and kicking the door, by the time I'd got out of bed and semi dressed I expected the door to be off its hinges, he looked more shocked than me when I finally found the keys and got the door open, then he just give me a thumbs up and staggered next door to his house.

I agree with you, i would have questioned her more, if she made genuine mistake she has got responsibility to prove she is innocent and she could do that.0 -
What time of the day was it? were they drunk?
I have an AWFUL memory, exacerbated by alcohol and could quite easily knock on the wrong door to my best friends house. lol
I'd probably have asked for their friends name...0 -
