O2 wireless query

Hi

if i was to buy a netbook to use in my bedroom via my o2 wireless box. whats the range of the wifi signal?

and also the wireless is showing a green light on the front does that mean im ready to connect?
however the wifa button on the front of the router is not lit up.

One final question:
to use the internet from another room only the router has to be on and not the whole main computer, is that right?

There is no straightforward answer as WiFi range depends upon location of your router, construction of the house etc. But in general for a small standard house you should be able to locate your router in, say, the downstairs hallway and get a signal with your netbook in most other areas of the house.

If the WiFi light is green it means that the WiFi Access Point is switched on, so a wifi should be visible to devices like your netbook. Read the following guide to learn about setting up O2 Broadband WiFi

    http://www.selflearning.co.uk/o2/wireless/

Select 'How do I get setup' to learn about how to add new devices to the router, and what lights mean etc. As most netbooks don't have a CD drive to allow you to use the O2 setup CD, you'll have to learn about how to find the routers passkey and how to enter it directly into Windows Wireless settings to be able to connect to the router.

Correct! You just need the Router to be on. Only the router is required to provide any device connected to it with an internet connection.
