Grrr  the rugby was cancelled as there was no heat or water at stadium. They only anounced it 90mins before KO and we were already more or less all the way there. Did an hour's journey as I had to detour to pick up my cousin. It was his first ever rugby match so he was devastated that it was cancelled, his face made my heart break
I'm going to make a cuppa, have some xmas pud and curl up on sofa with a book or magazine.

Hi All
Glad you all managed a Christmas Day........we had a good time. OH bought me a guitar-total surprise but lovely as I had wanted one. Guess what I will be doing in the New Year :T
Woke up this morning to frozen pipes...I thought why can't I flush the loo? OH tells me from under the duvet that he found out when he tried to get a glass of water earlier when Dolly cat went for a scamper in the garden. Luckily OH thawed them out slowly with my hairdryer. Keeping the heating on low tonight.
SIL been in bed all day -came out with the coughing lurgy yesterday evening. Have been hitting the sales with my daughter and it was great as I can't go shopping with her often as she has lived in Japan for nearly four years now.
SIL seems a bit better this evening.......fancied P*t Noodles.
Anyway time for cold turkey tea with all the pickles.
It's my birthday tomorrow.:D
Have a good evening.

Hi all,
Yesterday was a lovely day. Spent it at OH's mum and stepdads. Was lovely to spend the day with the family but this is the first time in 10 years that we haven't made the 200 mile journey to my parents on Xmas Day. They were meant to be coming here instead today but the weather is too bad down there that they can't leave the horses. So missing them massively, think i phone my mum 3 times yesterday just to see what they were doing!
Then to top it off the football was cancelled today - OH and i are having serious withdrawal symptoms as not been to a home game for about 6 weeks!!
Tonight we are going to a friends to a get together and buffet which we are looking forward to. We don't have left overs to graze on as didn't cook dinner yesterday but we made sure we had lots of yummy snacks to munch on.0 -
evening all!
will read the thread later, been a busy day here. We went to the sales and I managed to get some nice things at great prices:j DH treated me to some new boots:j so am a happy bunny tonight!:)
I've just cooked my Christmas lunch(was working yesterday) and am stuffed now. DH and I working tomorrow and also DS2 is doing overtime.
I've come down with a cold - not too bad yet so am hoping it doesn't get much worse.
We went upto the dairy - (DH has withdrawn his notice for now as he's too worried about finding another job to just give one up) lots of bottles of pop have exploded in the cold up there, fruit juice has frozen and its much warmer in the fridge than in the warehouse.
(((hugs))) to all the poorly ones.
will try and read later, DS is keen to get his hands on my laptop.
take care all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Had a good xmas day and had a pretty chilled day today. Got to up and popped into town. More for the walk and the fresh air than the sales but got lunch, next years xmas cards and some perfume so not a bad trip! Had a great laugh watching people pile into Selfridges and fight over the handbags (I've seen sale madness but this was something else) :-).
Rest of the day spent watching the TV curled up with my OH :-)2013 Free Money - £363.44 Topcashback

Evening All
Hope you all enjoyed the festivities - ours were calm and stress free which is not something you can say very often about christmas day!
Dinner was a great success - everything perfectly cooked and I;ve just had leftover roast spuds, roast parsnips, sausages and stuffing with gravy.
Have a good evening xClimbing back on the OS wagon after a short vacation to Recklessness

Glad to hear everyone had a good Christmas. I must be getting old as it didn't really feel 'special', but it was nice to cook for my family and open a few presents.
Know the feeling flutterby - I didn't really feel special either, but it was nice to watch the children decimate their presents! Have already started planning what I'm going to do with the leftover wrapping paper (decorate christmas baubles - revamp).
Yes he didHe came over last night and left this morning
. It was lovely to see him, especially as he will be off to the Middle East for 4 months in Jan on training exercises. If only he wasn't in the Army I could see him being a permanent fixture but I don't want to be his GF and only see him a few times a year. C'est la vie....
My OH is in the army (until 3 April) and I've become expert at moving house - 10 times in 13 years of marriage!
Boxing day here has been cold weatherwise, and went to see MIL who seems to be a lot brighter thankfully. OH was comotose almost all the way, apart from when he was dealing with DS1.
Have already started thinking about Christmas next year - well I like to see what I can get in the sales - although am planning to do a lot of home made things, so will just get the supplies I need before the VAT goes up.
Off to find out about sock monkeysMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
A late visit from me today, hope it finds you all OK.
All fine at DG towers, DS & GF have gone off to the pub to watch the Spurs match, and meet up with his friends, they have their annual "booze up" tomorrow, so will try to restore order then before we have the DNiece and DNephew and their families down on Tuesday, with the youngest DGNephew being only 20 months, need to put breakables up high, and barricade the tree, but looking forward to enjoying their excitement, and hopefuly them eating up some food.
Back to eating the chocies, and I need to lengthen the mittens I made for DGNephew. The hat scarf and mittens went down well with DS's GF, will try to take a piccie before they go.
Have a nice evening. Take care all, and ((hugs)) to those not so well, and those who cannot be with their loved ones.

Grrr very annoyed flutterby here  the rugby match has been rescheduled for tomorrow, but I am going to Cardiff with the girls for sales shopping so will miss it, I've bought train tickets already so not cancelling. The rugby tickets are not refundable either
I can't believe they cancelled it just 90mins before the KO and then rescheduled it for less than 24 hrs notice! None of my friends who had tickets can make it tomorrow either. I'm hoping my brother can still take my cousin but it depends on how hungover he is tomorrow!
Other than that I've had a nice Boxing Day night just chilling watching movies with Action Man. He is going back to his barracks tomorrow so I won't see him til April/May time now.
