Morning peeps
still bitterly cold here today - minus 5 on the weather station, i shall brave it soon and take the woofaloes for a walk, little oldie is down here with me and the mad one is upstairs with DH.
I stayed on the sofa yet again last night as DH has the lurgy, he seemed to have been holding it off for the last couple of days but succumbed yesterday and as the day went on the worse he got, at least he isn`t working today.
No plans really now as we were having rellies over today but they have called and said that they can`t make the trip as they are too ill. I would rather have them safe and sound at home than driving a few hundred miles to visit. Today will be a bit of a lazy one i think, i have enough leftover turkey etc to make another Christmas dinner and enough prawn cocktail etc so not much cooking to be done, i``ve eaten so much chocolate that i really deserve to burstgoing to try and abstain from that today before i make myself ill
I need to gather up all the new smellies etc and pop them away, i also plan to spend some "me" time relaxing and reading my new gardening bookas soon as Christmas day is over i`m raring to go in the garden for next year
Then i look outside and see the snow :rotfl:
Anyhow nuff of my rambling, good to see that everyone has had a nice Christmas
Pollys - Enjoy your chillin
nmlc - Glad everything worked out good for you.
Celyn - Congratulations  Hope that everything gets sorted out quickly :j
Gers - Back to the pepperami soon :rotfl::D
Right i`m off to make more tea, i can hear that the snotty person is stirring upstairs so i`ll see if he wants one. Have a lovely peaceful day peeps, hope that all the poorlies are better soon.

Morning all
Nice to 'hear' from you Cel, my wedding plans are as low key as yours, I can't be doing with all the stress of dealing with something complicated.
I've been up since 6:30 but only just prised hubby off the pc.
DW,WM & TD have all been on & finished, yesterday I cleaned the kitchen windows, put a last row of cream edging round the latest lapgan ready for DD's foster child who wanted a blanket in 'pretty colours but no yellow', lol, she's only 4! I also made a couple of small patchwork cushions.
Hubby loves his new sheepskin slippers (he always has cold feet) & has been chuckling away at the latest Terry Pratchett on his Kindle.
He gave me Victorian Farm, which I'd asked for & he got a box of shortbread from work.
Todays plans include more sewing, making some chocolate brownies & fudge for my son in law.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning all,
Lovely day here but bitterly cold, we had a great day yesterday, despite my mum phoning in tears and saying they would not be coming, and my sis turning up 1/2 after the time I said lunch would be served, and me trying to keep everything warm.
OH bought me a vintage looking digital radio, its beautiful, and looks lovely in my kitchen, I also got some perfume, and lots of chocs. DD made me a photo book of our life together which had me sobbing, I also got a slanket from mum, and various bits and bobs :T, very lucky.
OH's dad and my parents are coming for lunch today, I hava a ham to cook, so had better go and put that on, we also have turkey and pork left from yesterday, and we always have cold meat mash and pickle for lunch boxing day. So nice and easy.
Need to have a clear up, and tidy through, I missed Dr who yesterday so will see if I can watch that later on.
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning all
Glad to hear everyone had a good Christmas. I must be getting old as it didn't really feel 'special', but it was nice to cook for my family and open a few presents. I have enought leftovers to have another meal today, plus have portions of nut roast and lentil pie to put in freezer. Thank god my DW is working (my Dad put new screws in too yesterday), it went on twice yesterday!bargainbird wrote: »FB - Did your very own actionman put in an appearance ?
Yes he didHe came over last night and left this morning
. It was lovely to see him, especially as he will be off to the Middle East for 4 months in Jan on training exercises. If only he wasn't in the Army I could see him being a permanent fixture but I don't want to be his GF and only see him a few times a year. C'est la vie....
As I was up early-ish I went for a little walk by the sea. It's still heavily snow covered, so are the paths. So it was a bit of a treaturous (sp?) walk! :rotfl: The tide was in so it was lovely.
I watched the last hour of 'Goodnight Mister Tom' this morning too. And sobbed my heart outI read the book in school aged 13 and loved it. I've seen the tv prog a fair few times but it still gets to me! :rotfl:
This morning will be a quiet pottering round the flat with crap tv morning. This afternoon, me and my brother are taking my little cousin who is 8 to his first ever rugby match. It's the local derby, and 20,000 tickets have been sold! KO is at 4pm so I'm going to dress like the Michelin man so I'm warm enough! Action Man is going to match too with his friends, but he supports the other team so I may have to shun him
Have a fab Boxing Day all

Hi All
Hope your christmas is going well and you have eaten loads. I got a new camera from the kids so I am very happy. Went to friends yesterday which was lovely, got in about 1am and am having a lovely relaxing morning. I got Top Gun DVD too and have watched it already, I had forgotten how good it is!!
Had frozen pipes here on christmas eve which cleared later in the day - I had left a tap open but obviously too much and the bathroom flooded. The water ran through the living room and then into the garage. Anyway, all dried up now and apart from a little bubbling in the ceiling of the living room there doesn't seem to have been much damage thank goodness!
Snowing again here but not going anywhere so it doesn't matter. Have a good day all. Take care. XX0 -
Hi folks,
Glad you all had a good day. We're off to football in an hour or so.We've all just had bacon butties, finished off with some M&S cookies. Most of our overnight visitors have left now, apart from a mate of DSons.Plenty of turkey etc left so it will be an easy tea when we get home freezing later.
Feeling a bit tired as DH,DB and the lads were listening to music off Youtube till late o'clock, and our bedroom was directly over them,so had earplugs stuffed down my ears.DB woke DNiece(7) when he went up about 3 o clock, and she was crying.Considering she was the only child here she was really good.We were playing Just Dance2 as well....well actually I watched everybody else,I'll be playing that when I'm on my own with no one watching :rotfl:
Still below zero, snowy and icy-think I may go to the match in my snow boots, and new thermal socks.
Hope you all have a relaxing day xxx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -

Hello and Merry Christmas for yesterday
hope everyone had a good day.
We had a lovely day, bit strange tho as DD was
at her BF's for Christmas dinner, first time she's
not eaten with us.
FIL got me a Kenwood food processor!!!
I've wanted one got ages but didn't think I'd get
one this year, very happy!!
Quiet day today, DD has popped back for a
while but is going back to her BF soon.
It is still bitterly cold here, all the cola and other
mixers I put in the garden room are frozen solid!!!
Enjoy the rest of the day, hugs to all xx0 -
Hi everyone,
Just popped in to say hope you all had a good day yesterday.
Ours was interesting to say the least, as had DS's dad join us for Christmas dinner. It's the first time in 8 yrs I've had Christmas dinner with my boy as usually he goes to his dad's for the holiday. Luckily everything went well, no awkward silences & ex bought a lovely strawberry gateau with him which is still being appreciatedthey went back to his after Dr Who with a pack up of cold turkey, gammon, beef, hm sausage rolls, hm mince pies & half the christmas pudding lol.
Today has been spent portioning up all the left overs & freezing them, reducing stock so it will fit in the freezer as well, I'm just waiting on some salad pots to cool down for potato salad then will lay out a small buffet as there is only DP & myself here until tomorrow so we are just going to graze & enjoy the peace & quiet
Hugs, spoons to those in need x
Best Wishes to all x
