I've got this cooker
http://www.electrolux.co.uk/Products/Cooking/Cookers/Double_oven_cookers/EKC607601X
The extended warranty has just run out:mad:
Today just as the Xmas feast was nearly ready (we had to make the gravy with granules & boiling water from the kettle), the hob stopped working:(:(:(:(:(:(
It comes on (hob control lights up) for a second & then it cuts out. The oven is working perfectly.
Can you believe it picked today:mad::mad::mad::(:(:(
Any ideas what it is?
Trouble shooting doesn't have a "problem" that covers the hob not working but the oven doing so.
They must have separate brains/controls?
Fuses?
But if the hob had separate fuses that had gone it wouldn't come on at all would it?
Tried turning it off at the wall & then turning back on, no joy:(

No suggestions, but I feel for you.
Our fridge broke down yesterday; thank heavens for the weather.0 -
Had a hob go on my zanussi cooker. In my case turning it on caused the fuse to trip. Turned out both hob and switch required replacing but oven and other hobs worked fine in meantime. Replacement hob, fitted, cost about £900

Its not tripping or affecting the main fuse, the oven (its a cooker not separates) is working normally.0 -

Was a cooker with us too. I didnt understand the precise problem with our defunct hob but they can fail, repairman said sometimes its caused by using pans with uneven bases. If your switch is ok then maybe repair will cost a bit less., say £75 ish.0 -
Its working again normally this morning????????
