I jsut thought I would say for any of you thinking of joining the HSA I have been in it for about 20 years now and have never regretted a penny spent on it. Some years I don;t get all my money back, but other years I have had a fortune from them. Pregnancy was a good payer. And when my husband became ill with cancer he was in and out of hospital so much the HSA was a lifeline. (I think I claimed over £600 that year). I see an osteopath every 8 weeks and always get half of it back. There are so many different plans and it depends which one you are on as to whether you get all or half back. What is good is that if you and your partner are both in it separately on a scheme that pays half back, then you can both claim for the same thing and in the end get it all back, up to your maximum limit of course. ( Which varies according to haw much you pay).
I hope that all makes sense. It has been fabulous value for money over the years and is the one thing I have never been tempted to drop even when finances were stretched.Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. So if I joined could I claim for my monthly contact lenses that I already get from my opticians? Or is it just new prescriptions etc... ?0

You'd be able to claim for the contact lenses every month, starting from the start date of the policy.
It is only maternity cover that there is a waiting period before you can claim.
Incidentally my HSA payments have been declined through Quidco even thought the transaction had initially been validated.0 -
Hmmm... I pay for the contacts by direct debit... I wonder how I could get a receipt for the claim? Will have to speak to specsavers!
Are there any cancellation charges if I cancel after 6 months say?0
