HSA - Quidco - It's back (£35 this time) !!

Apologies if this has been posted already (I know there were reams of discussions back in June/July but I cannot find any new threads on this) but the HSA/Quidco offer is back again.
It isn't £77 any more, but £35.
In any event, if you are going to use the policy it is well worth it.
By paying £2 a week i.e. £104 a year I can claim £70 back from the opticians and £70 back from the dentist which I know I will definitely use.
This alone makes it worthwhile. The £35 on top is a bonus.
Let's hope it is not abused like last time when HSA got slightly pertrified by the high sign-up rate and talk of immediate cancellation. There is a 3 month "validation period" now.
I got stung last time when people started abusing it and I am waiting for my money which I will hopefully get this time (which Quidco have suggested will happen).
Apologies once more if my posting this offends anybody's sensibilities, I know how sensitive some of you are...

I agree - please do not abuse this as it is a really good offer and should be kept for those who genuinely want it. Get more than your money back anway if you use all of it!Being bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:0

Out of interest, can you claim back cost for regular sunglasses purchased at opticians, or is it to just cover prescribed glasses?
And, what are the terms on the money towards dental costs? One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.0 -
I believe it extends to prescriptions and eye tests but am not certain - the T&Cs are on their website http://www.hsa.co.uk
It talks of "prescribed" glasses and contact lenses so I think that is your answer...[STRIKE]Something witty[/STRIKE]0 -
I'd definitely recommend the HSA plan, I took one out when the first offer was on - still waiting for cashback - but have already had money from a dental visit paid.
Only had a check up for me and my little girl and the bill was £48.50!!!! Sent off the form to HSA and the money was credited direct to my bank account within a week - brilliant!!
Just another couple of visits to the dentist - which we would obviously have anyway - and the plan has paid for itself!
The children were included on the plan free but you can still claim money back for them.0 -
Mods - PLEASE consider taking this off Grabbit Forum. I'm mindful of the antics of a few idiots last time this appeared and would hate to see the offer withdrawn again. This is a good company and the plan is excellent value, anyway.I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0

Quidco blog update:
HSA cashback updates and re-launch
October 27th, 2006
For those waiting for their July and August HSA transactions to update there’s some good news! As of today HSA will be re-launching on Quidco and they have also updated valid transactions from July and August. This should be reflected in your Quidco account today and tomorrow.
The terms of the new re-launch will be:
There will be a 3 month validation period to ensure genuine purchase of the policy.
HSA will only validate one policy per household. If there is an existing HSA member in a household, no further commission will be validated. Purchasing a cash plan and personal medical plan together will mean only one commission being paid.
Should the policy be cancelled during the three month period the application will not be validated.
The commission payable per cash plan or personal medical sale will be £35.
To hammer on the old point again, the reason for all this trouble has been people who signed up to HSA simply to receive cashback and then cancel immediately. This was widely posted and discussed on a popular forum which HSA saw and obviously reacted immediately by pulling the programme. We are fortunate enough that they have waited to see the fall-out from this and have finally re-launched with Quidco. The lesson is clear, abuse it and lose it. That’s the way it’s going to be, from Europcar, to Magazine Group, to HSA you would think this would be clear enough by now. The actions of an abusive few ruin these programmes for people who genuinely are interested. To make our position clear once again also, we have no patience or tolerance for abusive activity at Quidco and any account with abusive activity will be terminated along with the earnings within.
NB. It's apparently taking longer than thought to update all the original transactions so patience required. 'Sometime this week' now.I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0 -
Sorry, got a couple of questions...
So for £2 a month I get £70 towards dental treatment and £70 towards optitions?
It says they pay 100% so I assume this means there is no "excess"?
Does it cover routine stuff like check-ups and eye tests?
Say I needed glasses and wanted designer ones, can I claim £70 but still pay the extra?
What about if I buy online from "glasses direct" or similar?
Cheers

its 2 quid a week (about 8.66 a month)
you can claim £70 max against eyes and dentists.
so yeah - if your specs are 300 quid - just send off a reciept and claim form and you get 70 quid back in your bank pretty quick.
same for the dentists, get a receipt and off it goes - if its more than 70 quid you get 70 quid, if its less than 70 quid you get back what you paid and can make further claims in year upto a total value of 70 quid.
it also covers lots of other stuff - all the details are on the hsa website.0
