just a quick question, whats the adverage price people have found for skeins. I generally pop along to the small shop in town (that does anchor) and pay in cash. just wondering what the adverage for people was

I rarely buy skeins as I am more of a 'buy the whole kit' stitcher but when I do I (and lots of other ladies here) use Across town stitching. They are 40p a skein for both DMC and Anchor and do good deals for bigger orders. The site is here click on DMC or Anchor to see the available list but for p+p charges you need to click on Orders and scroll down a little.

    Hope that helps :)
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
  • thanks. I havent ever bought a kit.... just use charts.... :o
I Love My Library....when I finish/don't like a book, no one gets upset when I return it!
    Starting 210
    7lbs this month = 5.5

Can't seem to get Across Town to load properly shelly - must be an omen - telling me I shouldn't be spending.:D Liked the idea of 40p for skiens . Never mind - will try later. Thanks for pointing us in the right direction though :)

Loved your flippin card Soulie :)

Hoping to start long stitch of Cottage Garden over the weekend but trying to do a bit of a kitchen blitz at the moment.

Chicky, I'd quite like the little bird one - I bought the tennis bird for 50p at the car boot sale the other week! Do we need to PM you and make an offer or something?

    ohh cool.

just PM me with the chart and either 'full price' or an offer bid.

If i get full price requests I will randomly choose one (names in hat) if not it goes to highest 'bidder'.

    Hope that makes sense. :p

I finished my June/July challenge at the end of July and I started a cake band for a friend last night.

Have not done very much today other than stitch my xmas snoopy (pic soon) and snooze on the sofa with the cat ! Have just done my Tesco shop then promptly canceled it, 5 mins after checking out! how a few bits can result in a spend of £100 plus is beyond me....

have a nice curry simmering on the hob for tea and no plans other than back to stitching, perhaps put a film on. Happy Saturday all :j

Saints all the way but don't get to many matches anymore since most are on a Friday night and dd/ds are usually nodding off by 8pm on a Friday :( Used to take dd to every match in her baby saints snowsuit - her first match was a challenge cup round in the snow!
