OK, here goes ..
As you may remember I was using this to pay chunks off my overdraft at intervals during the year rather than having a huge chunk at the end (£50 was paid off at the end of March!:D )
April - June was added but meantime my house insurance renewal came through and had gone up by £85! (I had a claim a few days before renewal last year which obviously "missed" the cut-off and has "hit" this year).
Shopped around and found one for £70 cheaper, but interest was charged for installments.
Called my current insurer and they agreed to cut £50 off my premium but only if I paid the full years premium - £215!
So ... I'm afraid I had to resort to my pot again for £100.:( I also ended up having to pay July's amount back to my main account to help make up the difference.
Feeling a bit disappointed in myself - however, I'm also really glad that I had the money put aside as it's saved me a sizable chunk of money!;)
I'm now unsure what to do as I've obviously failed the challenge miserably!
I'd like to keep going if no-one minds - my car insurance is due in December and I could have about 1/2 of it saved up by then.:)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250
£1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000

keep going rising from the ashes just think where you'd be without the money.
I have the whole of July to find which is unlikely to happen so think i will write that off as a bad month and know i'll be £30 down.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

I don't think you've failed risingfromtheashes, I think you did well as you had the money to pay the house insurance. No credit was used!
Continue to save now, and you'll still have something towards Christmas
I may use my pot towards my holiday in two weeks, as I am not flying back to UK this Christmas.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -

Thanks both, feeling a bit better now!:D
I just couldn't see the point in paying extra for the insurance when I had the money lying - so, this challenge has proved very worthwhile!;)
I will keep going! So, £31 transferred!
