A few on the forum have got them and got 250g Glogg instead of 100g (you got the hatbox right?), they are very happy :rotfl:

I've not had mine, hoping for a Tuca Tuca candle!

No. not a hat box just a brown box with 'random' things in for free.
    The glogg was 100g.
    Still v happy!:rotfl:

I used to work for Lush, and now i know what their opinions are on not supporting cancer charities i would never shop there again!

    What was the issue?
The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese
  • Still things in Swindon Lush late this afternoon, including several smaller gift boxes - lots of winter warmers, and a few snow fairy ones included. I can't stand snow fairy myself so didn't go near them.
But I am very happy with the 30 quid's worth of ballistics, bubble bars etc that I got for half price - should be enough to see me through labour and the first few weeks of screaming child...

The issue was, when i was working there a lady came in from macmillan nurses and asked if she could laeve some leaflets, the manager told her no,as we (LUSH) do not support cancer charities! when i asked why she said because they test on animals, unbelievable!!

I can understand why they say it from a business point of view though. One of Lush's biggest marketing points is that they are totally vegan. They can't be seen to be supporting anything that is contradictory to that marketing point.

Does finding a cure for cancer not override any anti animal testing argument?
    Gone ... or have I?

For us as individuals, of course, but I can understand it could be damaging for a company like Lush if people were able to point the finger and say that they support animal testing in any form. That is if it is an official Lush policy, and not one manager misunderstanding or being overly strict.

Macmillan don't test on animals though - they don't do cancer research but instead provide support for people with cancer, such as Macmillan nurses, cancer care centres etc. The manager was probably confusing them with charities such as Cancer Research UK.

personally yes I think it does (my daughter has just got a place at York to study Biochemistry and plans to go into medical research and cancer research is her main area of interest)

But I can see why as a company Lush is taking such a stance considering it's marketing strategy.

LUSH aren't Vegan, some individual products are vegan but not everything. Some use Honey for example. However, you are correct that they do not test on animals at all.
