I would far rather wear one than keep getting food on my clothes when cooking. (Also I can wipe my hands on the apron - can't do that with my work clothes!!!)
You are sooo right! I remember getting an apron after realising that wiping my hands on the back of my jeans didn't really make flour disappear!:rotfl:
Had to spend ages trying to remove cake mix from my new sofa:oThe beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.

ooh, and everyone should own a large/oversized jumper hand knitted for them by a relative - there's just nothing so cosy to compare it to! Both my OH and I have ours, my mum knitted mine and his nan knitted him his!A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0

I have 2 pinnies. One without a top that's not waterproof and the other full sized is waterproof.
I went looking a charity shop for proper tablespoons as I didn't have any and couldn't buy any. The chap in the shop took pity on me and let me have them for free. I had spent about 20 minutes rummaging through all the cutlery on my hands and knees with a very large bump and a very small DD!
I'm desperate to get a table cloth that is big enough for our table. It's 6-9 feet long and 3 feet wide. Any ideas? I keep trying ebay but to no avail. I have just started collecting silver napkin rings for when I manage to get a cloth. I might give up and try to make one with matching napkins.
When I finally get a dresser I will get a good crockery set with matching cups and saucers. I already have a teapot and have a denby coffee pot that was my Grannys (do I just put in coffee from the perculator and then serve?).
I wear slippers. We also have dressing gowns. Saves having the heating up high and wearing out the carpet/ our socks.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
This company sell tablecloth damask fabric. The pictures aren't very good but I have used the company and they will send you samples. I think your best bet for a larger table like yours is to buy a length of fabric and hem it yourself.

You will need to type in Damask into the search on the site. I tried to link to the damask fabrics but it just goes back to the home page everytime I try.0 -
You've just reminded me. I used to have a yellow changing apron from Mothercare. Fabric on the front and waterproof backing. So handy, I wonder if they still do them?
Tablecloths: I once bought a red flat single sheet to use under a lace tablecloth for Christmas. They wash easily being polyester cotton and you can get loads of different colours. Quite cheap too, but check for colour fastness on first wash! The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.

Forgot to say, single sheets are usually 180x260 cms Ikea are a bit wider. I know that's no good if you are looking for damask but thought that it might help someone...The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
