Cancelling T-Mobile Contract

According to T-Mobile my contract ends on 23/01/2011, and I want to go elsewhere. Just wondering what sort of notice I need to give them, so that I can leave as soon as it ends? Do I have to do anything in writing or can I just call them?

It's Combi 30, 18 month contract if that helps.
Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.

Call and give 30 day notice.
You could already be in final 30 days of billing, so might have to cough extra month (depending on when your billing day is in a month).
  • I also wondered about this. On my T-Mobile online account my renewal/upgrade date is Jan 8th but i'm sure i've heard that if i want to cancel, the contract will run until Feb 8th. Can anyone verify this?

Jan 8th is the renewal date, 8th feb is your likely contract end date - technically of course the contract continues till you give 30 days notice.
  • So i'm best to ring up about possible upgrade deals on Jan 8th, then give them the 30 day notice right away if i don't fancy any deal they offer?

I would ask around 6th just to be sure you get the 30 day notice right.
  • I'll try that out, thanks for the advice.
