I ordered a game a few years ago through Asda Direct. I remember they just left me waiting for weeks with no contact and no game. Only when I queried the wait did they bother to inform me that the game wasn't in stock and wasn't about to be in stock. I emailed them regarding their poor customer service but had no reply.

That was the first time I'd used their online service and I haven't been back since.

I've just rechecked my phone logs and I have a missed call on the 16th dec, 17th dec and 2 on the 21st dec. There is nothing on the 20th dec.
You mention that a message was left. With whom, theres no sign of a call let alone a message?
You should check your outgoing call logs and then fire the employee who is lying to you. And why didnt I get an email, I was online all day?
Also, have you not heard of 3D secure? If you have that integrated into your payment system, like Tesco, credit cards are less likely to be rejected.
I'm a web developer and recommend you get it installed.

One other thing while I have your attention, in the first half of this year I was really annoyed when one of your drivers was delivering upto 2 hours before the time-slot I chose. This happened about 3 or four times.
One of the drivers even said that the other customers preferred it, which is such cop-out.

And there were a few occasions where the packaging on products were damaged. I had to throw away the food the following day. Shouldnt someone be checking? Or does your employees throw anything into the cart and expect customers to scrutinise the packaging at the door? Not really the ideal methodology if it delays your drivers and food gets sent back.
Theres only one time when I had damaged goods returned at the door, but only because the contents spilled everywhere.
Finally there was the odd occasion when I had an item missing, and an occasion where a product I didnt order was delivered instead of a product I wanted, which was also binned. Asda is becoming a bit of a false economy.

Tesco so far has a clean record and I've been ordering with them for a lot longer.

Why would you choose a company who you have clearly had so many problems with already to deliver your Christmas shopping?:undecided

This sounds a bit unlikely. Where did you get this information from? If your payment was rejected surely it would be because of lack of funds or incorrect details. What has 3D secure got to do with it?

Credit card company said they didnt ask for a PIN number, and therefore flagged it as being a suspicious purchase. You need to read up on 3D secure.

And if they deliver early and you are in, what's the problem? Or if you want to be really pedantic about it, don't answer the door and wait for them to come back again during the correct delivery slot?

Are you kidding me? Then whats the point of having a time-slot? They have an 8hr time-slot priced at £2.00, I paid £3.50 for a 2hr time-slot. From your point of view they might as well have a "we'll deliver when we get off our backside" time-slot instead.
And yes, there were times when they ring the door bell whilst I'm in the shower, and they wait outside for half an hour. Really really annoying having an Asda van staking out your house whilst your showering.
You are probably one of those guys who says Nick Cleggs doing his best, so lets forget about that pledge.
£3.50 for a time-slot is just that, otherwise its false advertising.
  • Brilliant .. Telling a massive company owned by another massive company how to run their online business will get them up and running in no time.

Don't forget the excellent advice on employee retention.Makes me sick when I read things like that, someone actively trying to get someone fired(at this time of year as well) for something so trivial and which could just be an honest mistake....or even true.Says a lot about someone who'd do something like that.

£2/£3.50 for that delivery is an absolute bargain imo.I would never take it as any kind of guarenteed exact time for that price. It will be costing Asda a lot more than that to provide the service.I use Asda for deliveries and from speaking to them they have around 20 deliveries a day to do over a large area. Not even remotely efficient at that price.

As for you making someone wait outside for 30 minutes while you shower-unless you have some disability that would make it hard for you to get in and out then its just plain selfish and rude.I wouldn't wait for you if it was me, your shopping would be long gone back to the distribution centre. Then having the cheek to complain that the van is staking out your property, you need to get a grip.

    Merry Christmas.

If they arrive early whats the harm in them ringing your doorbell, if you want it early take it, if you don't then you don't. They are not psychic, they do not know that you don't want it early, you should put a delivery note explaining you don't want it early. When I worked for tesco most folk were over the moon to get it in early so they can get it all packed away and get their dinner organised.
  • :rotfl:OP , you really need to get out more !

Your payment didnt go through and so you didnt receive your groceries....is that Asda's fault ?

You also moan about your delivery turning up half an hour early??? Surely most peole would see this as efficiency on Asda's behalf and not moan about it !!!

I would imagine that you would be the type to leave the poor delivery guy stood outside your house whilst you shower fully aware that he is there waiting.

    Just cant please some people....

    So, use Tesco next time.

So many problems with Asda, yet you trust them with your Christmas order.

You know, you leave your chin up in the air so long, someone is gonna punch it eventually.

Your email to Asda was ridiculous, they probably laughed at how pathetic it was! Sounds like it was written by an angry teenager. Surprised your closing line wasn't "I'm never using Asda again, and I'm telling by 600 friends, 60 folk down the pub, and my 3 brothers never to use Asda again!"
    Hope over Fear. #VoteYes

Me thinks Asda employ people to read these forums. Hands up those who replied are on their pay-roll.
Especially those who say that when someone delivers half an hour early its called efficiency.
I've never heard such crap. Efficiency is when they arrive on time, exactly when they say they would arrive.
Hey Asda personnel who is reading this, dont arrive when I'm showering, taking a leak, or cooking. Arrive at your allocated time slot, thats what time-slots are for. I know when I'm going to be free, or busy and you dont thats why I paid £3.50 and not £2.00.
And yes, if you arrive early and I'm in a middle of a shower, you will wait.
And about your "is it asdas fault?" comment, I refer you back to an earlier post. Read the bit about 3D secure and not emailing or phoning me.

Yes you're absolutely right, they are not psychic. Hence TIME-SLOT. And when you say
you should put a delivery note explaining you don't want it early
again TIME-SLOT. Is the concept of time-slot difficult for people to understand?
Ah ha, you mentioned, when you "work for Tesco". Do you now work for Asda?:D
Also how do you know they were over the moon? No driver has ever asked how do you feel about getting your delivery before your allocated time?
And I doubt you would ask drivers "were they over the moon to receive their orders early?" when you worked for Tesco.
