It really wasn't bad this morning.
I went into town to buy a sofa we picked out on Christmas Eve. I knew from the store website that the fabric I wanted was discontinued, so I needed THAT one. The one in the store.
I thought I was going in early (10am), but people were already leaving. I guess they must be open Monday shopping hours (not bank holiday hours as I'd assumed). I didn't struggle to park, but there were queues when I left.
Anyway, with discount and a further ex-display discount, I got the sofa half price. But I can't have it until January. So stay OFF the sofas in M&S, all of you. One of them is MINE.import this0 -

Surely they should realise that any viewers with an IQ greater than 50 will question the reasoning for broadcasting such "haphazard" information. Any viewer with an IQ of less than 50 might guess that TV news organisations assume that viewers with IQs over 50 will just accept that the contradictory news is due to it being a "fluid situation".
Talking of fluid situations, have you any news on Aberdeen house prices recently ? Now I`m aware that the shops may or may not have had a good Christmas, it would be nice to hear if Aberdeen house prices have risen again. The good thing about that is that the information comes from a more reliable source, and therefore can be trusted. It's almost as important to me as knowing that there have been stampedes in many shpping centres in the UK, as hordes of crazed shoppers battle the big freeze to save £2.13 for every £100 they spend before the VAT increase.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Retailers fear unhappy New Year as Boxing Day sales disappoint
Almost a quarter fewer shoppers turned out to grab a bargain in the traditional Boxing Day retail sales compared with last year, a survey by Synovate Retail Performance said. Shopper numbers were down by as much as 27pc in southwest England and by 19.9pc in eastern England.
Shops have already been hit by the appalling December weather.
FACT - looks like peeps clocked that these 'bargains' could easily be left on the shelf!0 -

Not according to the Beeb.

"Shopping centres across the UK reported "phenomenal" trading, with queues outside some stores."
"The BBC's Ben Geoghegan said shoppers there - some of whom had been queuing for up to 12 hours - were "screaming with relief" when doors opened at the store at 1100 GMT."
Ben added "I spoke to one of the relieved shoppers, as they exited the store's toilets. She said, I was so desperate after 12 hours of queuing, but it was worth the wait. There's only 2 cubicles in the toilets, and there's been a mad dash to spend a penny since the doors opened. It's so good to use the toilets before the VAT increase, as it will be a bit more than a penny from then on."30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Why as a matter of fact I do.....
I'm sure you'll be delighted to learn Aberdeen prices are currently slightly higher than they were at the previous peak in July 2007, and slightly lower than they were at the new peak earlier this year.
Of course, they're still around 40K higher than they were at the start of 2007, and still up markedly year on year.
And as the Oil price recently crossed $90 a barrel and seems set to climb still further, it does rather look like being a good year or two ahead for Aberdeen prices.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Volume are down but are being compensated for by the use of extra apostrophes.
From BBC news:
"Apparently stalkers are starting to use them for simple plurals."
Or was that "Apparently simple stalkers are starting to use them for plurals."?0 -
And how are the volume's looking.
Somewhere around 60% of pre-credit crunch volume of sales.
And somewhere around 115% of early 2009 volume of sales. So prices fell when volume of sales decreased, and prices rose when volume of sales increased.
Not quite the picture you're trying to paint though, is it geneer...;)
Wonder why?“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
