Moving House - Do I cancel Sky or just change address?

Hello - I'm due to move house the first week in January - I currently houseshare but the Sky account is in my name and i pay the bills - My housemate wants to keep Sky and I will be subscribing to Sky at my new address

Is it possible to have the account transferred over to my housemate, and for me then to subscribe as a new customer at my new address?

You're better off cancelling then you can both join as 'new customers' and get whatever deal they are offering

You will count as a new customer at your new place, but your housemate won't at yours (unless they've changed policy).

I tried to transfer a housemate's account to my name about 2 yrs ago and they wouldn't let me - god knows why. They made us cancel & sign back up.

I later found out that I had to pay a £50 'installation' fee despite the fact that I didn't want to cancel the account, just change it to my name. Tried to do it myself online but wouldn't let me change my date of birth. Absolute nightmare, I'd stand firm & insist on the change of details if you can...they didn't tell me about the £50 until too late & then refused to refund it.
