Credit card solely for flight purchase

I have never used a credit card. However, I can see the advantage of buying flights with a credit card, as I believe you are better protected if the airline goes bust.
Not knowing much about this, what are the issues I should consider in choosing a card that I might only use once or twice a year for such purposes? Ta.

Not always. It depends who you paid, for example if you bought through a 3rd party, ie a travel agent, you may not be covered. See here......I believe you are better protected if the airline goes bust.

Even though you may not have used the card each month you should still check the monthly statement, looking for fraudulent transactions.0
