Just realised if I draw out £60 for my allowance I will have overcooked it due to card spends. I will draw out £50!

    Thanks hun!

We went for the meal, me being MSE had the £8 two course lunch which was Southern Fried Chicken and curly fries followed by Raspberry Sorbet, OH on the other hand had a big plate of Nachos and Fajitas! The bill was £33.05 and I left a £2 tip, as I had £30 put aside it only cost me £5.05 which was fine. On the way home we stopped at local shop and I got us a proper drink for this evening and it was £6.26! Sure it would have been cheaper in a pub :(. Weather has been lovely though and we went for a nice walk around Canterbury Catherdral and the river.

So, total unnecessary spend since payday - £25.06  Am starting see how easy it is to just spend money without realising. Fortunately I don't have much on this week and think I will need less petrol than in the budget so should be fine...................she says.

Mmm I love fajitas! Sounds like you had a lovely day :)

I keep thinking I should do a spending diary as I seem to fritter so much money away!

Holiday plans are looking good - Africa is amazing!

Have you checked out Botswana and Namibia as ideas too? The wildlife in Botswana is something else (although it is on the pricier side) and Namibia has some amazing landscapes :)

I did look at Botswana and Mozambique but oh my gosh, the price!!

I've been emailing a man in Kenya who runs a Safari company and I think we are going to pay our deposit today, he was recommended by a Trip Advisor destination expert who has used him every year for the last 6 years so hopefully he is a safe bet! I thought we would have to book it through Hayes & Jarvis but I am facebook friends with the lady who booked our Maldives holiday so I dropped her a message to see if she can get a price for us and apparently she can so just waiting to hear back from her :).

Andy has been really winding me up about it . I know it is just the way he is but I've spent ages telling him bits and bobs and then yesterday he asked how much it was so I told him and he started whinging saying he thought it was going to be much cheaper than the Maldives even though I had been through it all with him the day before! It isn't miles cheaper than the Maldives but we are getting a much higher standard of accomodation and a safari, argh, men!!!

Good news today, Quidco will be paying me £45 later this week which is my Insurance and Breakdown cover cashback which is nice :j.

You may remember me mentioning the pot I got for Xmas that counts money? I've started putting bits in it again and I think it has £23 in it, I have earmarked that for travel insurance/viasa/malaria tabs etc. I will update the total saved at the end of the month :)

Safari is expensive but if you are going all that way then a decent ranger is so worth the money as the difference in what you'll get to see is huge.

Botswana is definitely pricey - the Okavango Delta is on my dream list but not sure I'll ever be rich enough.

Mozambique is meant to be amazing for diving - I met a girl in Zimbabwe who had just spent two months there and her pics were amazing.

Don't forget to budget for Yellow Fever jabs if your'e going to Kenya - think mine was about £100!

    So jealous - I LOVE Africa! :D

  • Wow Jody that all looks amazing!

OH and I have already discussed this as a honeymoon option! (Quite amusing since we're not even engaged! :p)

I wouldn't even know where to start though!

If you don't mind me asking, how much are you budgeting for it? So that I can get an idea for future planning!
