3D is here to stay
But I certainly wouldnt bother just yet as future tvs wont require glasses (they exist now, but with problems, so id hang fire till they get everything sorted):idea:0 -
You will in a few years when the next TV gimmick comes out, anyone wanna guess what that would be?
Flexible tv screens, fully integrated internet tv, touch screen etc. and 3d tv without glasses (as mentioned above).
(Although some of these are already out, I think that they will be the next options that are pushed to the masses.)0 -
3d playstation gaming is fun and it would be the only reason i would ever buy a 3d tv - if i could afford one
Hells yes! When the smaller screens are released (probably) next year, I shall be incredibly tempted. Even watching in 2D, they run rings around 95% of 2D TVs. The motion handling is noticeably better - and I don't notice a lot about TVs.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Toshiba have launched a 12" no-glasses 3DTV in Japan, it is coming, but at a huge cost. Remember that the images will be softer as you're halving the picture resolution (or worse for a lenticular system). I think it's a load of fuss over not much, but I work in the industry sometimes with the production company who do all the big live/music event 3D thingies and huge amounts of money are being spent...
I think the technology will eventually bombard its way into more homes just as they guys sinking billions into it will promote it relentlessly as they want a return on their investments. But I can assure you that I, for one, couldn't give a stuff about watching x-factor in 3d...0 -
Remember when nicam stereo was the "must have" ?
The v.limited content available means it's now really a no-brainer. I'd rather watch content I choose than have a tiny ration forced on me.
....settling down right now to watch a nice old film like The Bride of Frank .0 -
