My Husband Died in February, and I want to cancel all Virgin Services. He took out a contract with NTL on 16.08.2006 he paid by direct debit.
It has taken me till now to face up to my responsibility's.
I am 81 years old and I haven't got a clue how to do this under these circumstances, I need to be told in plain English what to write. and when to stop the direct debit. Please can anyone help me. Thank you.

I would assume you are now out of any extended contract so 30 days notice would suffice
you may need to supply copies of relevant certificates if the contract was solely in his nameEx forum ambassador

Be aware that if you are put through to the cancellation team on the phone, they'll try to persuade you to keep the subscription going.
Just keep saying no thank you...or if that worries you, write a letter.import this0 -
Assuming that you have Internet (Broadband), TV & Telehone with Virgin Media. If you cancel all the Virgin services you will loose all your current things e.g. internet access, telephone line & multi choice TV. I'm not sure if you really intend to do all that.
I suspect that your husband may have purchased an expensive package e.g. Sports & Movies and you are now thinking ouch! that is a lot of money to pay for things that I don't use. If that is the case then if you have a Virgin phone line then do the following
On your phone Dial 150 and you want option 2. (Cancellations) you will get through to a UK call centre and they will listen to you. Tell them exactly what you want to do. For example a couple of years ago I decided to downgrade my package as I don't watch movies or sport or for that matter much TV and as a result I only now pay for Broadband & the telephone line, the cable box gets freeview and anything else that is free including BBC iPlayer and catch up TV. £25.99 per month
If you dont have Virgin phone line then use this number 0845 454 1111
I hope that helps.
