Any machine can be made slow with the wrong software installed, no need to upgrade or replace, just look at what is running at startup, or backup and restore to factory settings. An inspiron 1525 with 1GB doesn't need to be slow.

Just ran the malware bytes thing on it and it had 252 infections, this little MSI notebook had none. Could that be one of the reasons why the 1525 is so slow? I always tell my partner to use my MSI but he insists on using the dell!

It is most certainly the reason. Can you post the Malwarebytes Log?

It's in the Logs section of the program.

It won't let me post the log on here, says it's too many characters. Noticed that after running the Malware thing, some programs have been blocked at start up. Most say permitted next to them, but some say not yet classified. These are:

    Malware Bytes
Dell Wireless WLAN Card Wireless Network Tray Applet
    Nokia M Platform
    Nokia Ovi Suite 2

I'm using the 1525 to type this, and it doesn't seem too bad.

right click, run blocked programs, then continue. The log isn't that important provided you updated malwarebytes first, and fixed them, but you could split it into 2 or more posts.

The lappy won't let me CTRL alt delete, I press and hold them in, and nothing happens. I wanted to look at the task manager thing.

Something has just come up called Problem Reports and Solutions. I can't get rid of it. It has an ok button, but it won't click.

Right click on the task bar at the bottom of the screen or press windows key + r and enter taskmgr.exe (or start and run and enter the same)
