I love my OH! (Help picking a West End musical)

I'm gutted. I decided to go and see if Oliver was playing, but it ends in January. The first musical I ever saw was Oliver. My gran bought me Oliver and Annie in a video gift set for my 5th birthday and I still remember to this day watching it and being amazed. I thought my first real west end musical could be Oliver because it was the first musical I was intoduced to. It would have been nice
i've read Charles Dickens too and own two collectors item editions of his books!
So, that's Oliver down and out...
That others that are playing are Phantom, Chicago, Billy Elliot and Wicked. Choices, choices, choices! I own Chicago, Phantom and Billy Elliot on DVD aswell:rotfl:! Maybe I should go for Wicked because I don't know that much about it. Although when I was studying acting at college .. those who had seen it went totally mad for it. I know a girl who wears a "Wicked Zipper" she got when she went to see the show and had it on her back mainly every day of the week!Toto, I
Don't think we're in
Kansas anymore...

Chicago is my absolute favourite. (So much better than the Hollywood film, if that's the version you own)
It's completely breath taking.
I would also urge anyone to see Avenue Q. Although I'm not entirely sure whether it's just ended a run in the West End.:rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf:0 -
My Fav has to be Phantom. The old theatre was so fitting. I loved it. My OH took me and he is not into musicals at all and he thought it was amazing too so it must have been good.

Out of all of them Wicked stands out the most. Breathtaking, when they sang it made me feel all tingly and its extremely funny.0 -

If I were you I would go for Wicked or Lion King- maybe leaning more towards lion king although I've not seen it yet. I LOVE musicals big time, and wicked is my all time favourite, I'm hoping to go and see lion king next year- not because I like the film but because everyone who has seen it seems to rave about it, even guys who hate the theatre and get dragged along by their OHs come out saying how fantastic it is! Enjoy what ever you choose

Loved Wicked but would only recommend if you like the Wizard of Oz. Les Miserables is fantastic, as are Billy Elliott, Phantom, Chicago and We Will Rock You. Didn't like Dirty Dancing although I love the film.DD2 is a musical buff and she thought Legally Blonde was brilliant.
However the one I would go back to again and again is Blood Brothers - absolutely phenomenal.0
