Santander transfer

I currently have my savings in a Santander cash ISA - the interest is payable on the anniversary of the account opening apparently. Last time I transfered my funds it took forever (many months) - does anyone know the formalities of transfering after the interest payment so I switch into a higher rate ISA as simply as possible? I assume if I applied now I'd actually end up missing out on the interest date, but if I wait till the interest is paid Im likely to hit another 3 month pause.
Thanks
Matt

I transferred from Halifax to Santander Direct ISA because of a higher rate, kept it for 8 months and just now transfered back to Halifax ISA Direct Reward again because they now have a higher rate. Both transfers went very smooth, the latest transfer forms sent in Dec 8 and money appeared in Halifax with interest a couple of days ago.
Have a look at your terms and conditions, unless you have a fixed rate/date/term interest should be calculated on a daily basis, so it should not matter when you transfer?0
