They are only getting away with it because shoppers in the UK will spend whatever it takes on food. Nothing, I repeat nothing gets in the way of people overfilling their stomach.
This will continue while they still have money to spend(which thanks to the CONservatives will not be for long).

Are we CONDEMned to starvation then? :rotfl:

I purchased a 3 litre bottle of Tesco's own brand Strong Dry Cider today and was amazed to see the price had gone up to £3.49 from £2.90 yesterday, an overnight increase of over 20%. Nick

I found that the other day when I had a delivery, I purchased the Cider and another item which change prices over night. The day prior to delivery they showed the lower price and when I viewed my items after delivery I noticed these two items were more than they had been the previous day. I am guessing that as it happened on a Wednesday they had had a price change over and it must have gone from a reduced price back to full price as £2.90 for 3 liters is quite cheap.

Do they sell any bottles of cider in between £2.90 and £3.49?
Some times a price increase may increase more than you think it should as they like to keep the product in a certain price brand to hit price points to make it simplier.

I would also check to see if other ciders going up (gone) as apple price may go up for cider apples.

JS may increase there price as tesco have increased there price.

in supermarkets prices go up and down all the time depending on wether they have special offers .. also if things are difficult to get the price goes up

its not a rip off .. they detail the pricing on the shelf you get to make an informed choice

Do they not do a Tesco Value version by any chance? Otherwise meths is the only option from here.
  • Maybe there are less apples available for Cider production at this time of year, so the price went up?
