Busy day visiting family, it was lovely as I haven't seen them in a while, dd was exhausted afterwards she had a nap in the end. She has been very happy the last few days and it's rubbed off on us too, the Christmas tree has survived too surprisingly, I thought she would have them all off by now lol. Still no wrapping done, but have started on the mince pies, nom nom

Yes it's done now - and with spaces. God only knows why it wouldn't work at first. I must have tried 20 times. I had to change my shop name though - I wanted Little Treasures, but someone already had that. I couldn't figure out how to add a picture or anything, so it's just a blank shop with the shop name.

I'm glad you've had a great weekend Savvy. It's amazing the difference it makes when the kids are having a good day, isn't it? I'll have a (virtual) mince pie if there's any going. I feel all christmassy when I see them in the shops.

Well done Elysia on setting up your shop, at least its a start. I made myself a logo up in Paint Shop Pro but you could probably do one in paint. Or if not I think they have some templates on there you can use. You can keep going in getting it to look how you want it to look until you are happy with it. If you do manage to make yourself a nice logo then make sure you save it so you can use it on other things in the future if you want to like business cards etc.

When you take photos of your items for your shop remember that they have to be square for the site. What I do is take the photo and then see if I can crop it into a square shape in my picture editing software. If I cant then I open a new file that is already square and paste the photo into the middle so that there is a gap at the top and bottom and then I fill the gaps with a block of colour to match the photo (have a look at some of my pics and you will see what I mean). I use Paint Shop Pro but it is a really old version and I dont think it would work if I get my new laptop so I am on the look out for a new picture editor. Edited to add, if you dont crop them yourself or cant do it then they will crop them into a square when you upload them so make sure you keep what you want in the middle.

I didnt lower the prices of everything in my shop, but I did on a lot of them. It wasn't a lot but I thought it might get me some more sales. I wont be out of pocket at all. I think one of the main reasons things dont sell is that the site isnt promoted that well, its up to you to promote your items yourself which is really hard. I have tried doing it on the Facebook page but Folksy have changed the site in the last few months and the app on there that used to let you buy things direct from Facebook doesnt work anymore. Plus where they changed Facebook around I am not sure now whether when I add a new post to my page that it comes up in other people's pages anymore. I had a button on my blog linking to my shop but that disappeared, I have just put a new link on but its not very prominent. I am thinking I might make up a new page on my blog like I had for my sofa and put in there about what I sell etc, but even then I dont have many followers to my blog lol. Its like flogging a dead horse.
