Hi everyone - sorry I've not posted in a while. I was so busy doing my play last week and the kids were off school so I was busy doing loads of Halloween stuff with them and then I got a horrible flu bug which completley knocked me out and I'm giving up smoking too!
Anyway, I have been thinking of you all and doing surveys etc when they come up to make some extra pennies.

Morning all

Well done on stopping smoking DJ, I stopped a good 6 years ago now, best thing I ever did. Was really hard going but I was determined to do it.

My C has gone up to £3.08 over night, so went up £1.50 since yesterday. Pleased about that. I need to go on DY and see what else I have I can copy over.

I did a bit more sewing last night, attempted to make a small clutch bag to match the jacket I am making. I need to get one of the covered buttons when they come to sew on the front then see what I think of it. Its not bad, but not something I could sell as I was making it up as I went along and had to sew it up by hand.

Dj - good luck with giving up smoking! are you using any patches or anything? My OH gave up in January using the patches and he hasnt smoked since, worked out we're saving between 150-200 a month!!!! so definatley worth sticking at!!

My cake was lovely last night, I found the recipe on the old style index collection http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=1665847&postcount=338 . its veryyy filling though, I've got loads left in the fridge still..oh well I suppose I'll just have to have some more today, what a shame lolol

Off to do my morning survey round, then enter all the comps for the weekend. I havent had a win for AGES, I'm due a big one soon I'm sure...
oooh just remembered I havent done mccains this week so I'll do that aswell.

Pablo - that cake sounds yummy. I wish my family liked cakes, I would to more baking if they did. As it is I usually end up eating it all myself and I really shouldn't be doing that so I don't bake anymore unless its a special occasion and we have people coming over.

I copied another review over just now, hopefully will be another 50p and I was first to review it so get more per rating too. Off to do some rating now as OH is asleep today so I can't go up and sew.

I just found something I could review on DY for the 600 points. I will try to get some more done as well. YD's netbook has broken and what with me not having a computer we are all going to have to share this one. Seeing that OH wont let her on when he is at home its going to be quite a struggle what with her course work for college etc so I thought I would try to get some extra money earned and see if I can get her a second hand one somewhere. We have one of those cash converter thingys up the town so they might have one.

As for me, I had asked OH if I could have a new laptop for Xmas ages ago when my old PC broke. He usually buys plenty of presents each year so I said I wouldnt want anything else but a laptop instead as I am sure he spends this much on presents. When I reminded him the other day he looked at me as if I was mad and said I must be joking if I thought he was buying me one of them. I feel a bit deflated now as I was looking forward to getting a new computer. He is talking about buying himself an Ipad with his Xmas bonus and a new smart phone.

If it is a no go-er, I think you need to save up for your own, as you definitely could do with one. There are some good deals around, but it would take you a while. You save up so much for everyone else.

Rufus, hopefully he is joking and one will magically appear on christmas morning...if not have an emergency rubbish present to give him as punishment!
