I feel the same - both can't be bothered, and also it's always me. It's my own fault in a way, as I don't mind helping a bit, but there is literally no-one else who does it. They are disbanding the PTA as it is poor, and trying to start afresh.

I will watch though, as though I don't mind using my skills, particularly if they can really help make things better for kids in the school, I won't be working there all day every day for free. I bet they had real fun - ooh, we have a parent who has a teaching qualification and wants to help - ooh, where can we put her to use. It sounds a fab project, and I fully support the idea of helping the weaker kids with reading, but when she said they are absolutely desperate for helpers, I did think hmmmmm. It's a shame more people don't find the time just helping their own kids rather than thinking school can do it all. Now if they love me and want to offer me a teaching assistant job, I would not be complaining one bit. ;)

I thought you were in bed early last night. How come you can't be bothered? It's part tired for me, and part the miserable day. It's so windy here.

It's great you want to help out at school but don't let them put too much on you. I have a helper who comes in once a week for 3 hours and listen to the kids read. It's a huge help and I really appreciate it, but I wouldn't dream of asking her to do more unless she said she was interested. Just because you are probably the only parent showing an interest in helping, doesn't mean you should be guilted into doing more than you initially wanted.

Of course, you would be every schools dream - a qualified teacher offering time for free but I think if you aren't strict about what you will and won't do you could end up finding yourself to be a full time free member of staff! The school should really be trying to find more parents who would give an hour or two a week, have they made it well known that they would like more volunteers? Sometimes parents don't realise that they would be considered useful.

As you have all probably realised, I've not gone to work today. I have spent the day sitting on the sofa and it feels so naughty :rotfl:!! I can't get used to this forced rest! I do feel much better though so I shall be going back to work tomorrow but taking it very easy. I haven't heard from the hospital regarding the glucose test so hopefully that means everything is fine.

  • Rarr, keep getting kicked out of every survey I get today! not a good money making day for me anyway
Then I just called up the doctors for my iron test results which according to the receptionist have come back fine...what on earth does that mean? does that mean I need to carry on taking the tablets...or I can stop them..or cut down..I'm really confused! I think I'll carry on taking them until my next midwife appointment in two weeks and ask her then. Dohhh and I've just remembered I was going to ask when the flu jan drop ins were. Eugh I'll call back tomorrow.
I might give up on the day, put a film on and knit...

Pablos - you take it easy too. I don't blame you.

Nicky - I'm glad you didn't go in today. Did you paste your reviews over? I've done some rating but haven't checked yours.

Michelle - No, didn't go to bed early, or read my book. I was still here, just mooching about. I was so enthusiastic yesterday, because the sun was shining, and today it's dull and horrible, and I really can't be bothered. Time to get my SAD lamp out again methinks. :(

I haven't done too bad - I've done my £2.50, but finding it hard to be motivated. I wrote a review yesterday ready for DoU to add, but today they said they won't, so I went to paste in into Chow, and deleted the whole thing my mistake. :( One of those days. I'm just going to sit here and circle all the lovely things in the new Boots calalogue I got this morning instead. :D

Thanks Nicky for words of wisdom. I think I just need my time to be utilised well, and not used and abused. They are going to have a big push on getting more parents in, and it definitely needed.

My fault as well probably as I needn't have said I was a teacher, or offered my time, perhaps they think I am just bored.

I meant to say to you, are you constipated at all, sorry that's a bit blunt and personal. Just i got an awful pain in my tummy when pregnant and sent home from work, and went up the hospital for monitoring and they checked me for a water infection, and then said I was badly constipated. Amazing how something daft like that can knock you completely for 6.

Elysia you take it easy then today, we don't want you pushing yourself. I might get my sad light out too, but it is only a lightbulb not a unit or anything. Better than nothing.

I've been productive to say I'm so meh! 2 NVL surveys, so earned £2 and took me to £46. I may reach pay out this year.

I've also had £2.60 so far today on Cha, so hardly slacking.

A travel review I put on has also been added but they must have a glitch as it has not appeared on the latest reviews list. Grrr. I've emailed them, but bet its too late by the time it gets fixed.

Elysia - I have copied one review over. I am not that familiar with Ciao though. I have been a member for years but only had about 5 reviews on there and didnt have any money in my account.

Edited to add, I have done 55p on OP so that takes my money over the £2.50.

Rufus - if you're not keen on it, just paste the reviews over and not do any rating. You'll still get the money. ;) I've had a look at yours - you have quite a few beauty ones - just paste them over, one every couple of hours. When it's a toy promotion, or whatever, we'll let you know, and you can paste those over too. ;)

Michelle - nope, not constipated :p. I did consider a water infection though. Would the pain go though or would it be constant? My pain seems to have totally gone with resting. I'm seeing my midwife on Tuesday anyway so I'll mention it to her.

Elysia - yes, I did pop one of the reviews on DooU. I only put it on this afternoon so my evening will be spent reading and rating!

A question about Chow - I joined ages ago but never really used it much. I've still got a white dot. If I understand it correctly I can't earn any money on there while I have a white dot, can I? What do I do to change my dot colour? Is it just rating other reviews? I don't want to waste my time copying over some beauty reviews only to not get paid anything for them.

I can't believe the Boots Christmas catalogue is out - I'm so excited!!! I'll have to get it at the weekend, it will really feel like Christmas is coming then. Now all I need is the Coca-Cola Christmas train advert :D

Nicky your white dot means you're still a newbie. You don't get paid for posting a review unlike Dooyoo - EXCEPT when there's a promotion on. (You get paid for rates - Imagine the time it would take to get 25p in rates when they are usually about 0.5p each, unless it's something electrical). I rated for hours yesterday and got 10p :(

Nicky - concentrate on Writing beauty reviews for Dooyoo - and then just paste it on Chow for an extra 25p, like I told rufus. If you don't like it, or don't get many E's, it's probably not worth doing any rating - just do it to get the bonus 25p. :)

  • Hi everyone, not made much today, 85p on viva and screened out of everything else so far, will try viva again incase any were added since the morning. The buyer replied saying near enough the same thing as they sent yesterday and I have tried again to explain that as the item isn't damaged or faulty I wont be refunding (of my own will of course). Sigh. Also bought a pizza tonight that was missing half of the toppings including cheese and tomato base.

Nicky I had really bad pains throughout pregnancy, I was told that they were stretching pains (and one of those looks like I was exaggerating lol) I was a teeny size 6 when I was pregnant so I guess I had the lions share of stretching to do, quite often it would stop me in my tracks! Try to take it easy and not do too much and of course if there is ever bleeding make sure you get checked over hun. Glad your feeling better today.

Sorry to hear your not feeling very motivated today, I think we all have off days from time to time, maybe if you have a relax and do something else hopefully you will feel a bit more motivated in the morning.

Was tempted to go in to see the Boots catalogue but the £1.20 parking charge to run in and out of Boots put me off a little, and if tgheir online 3 for 2 is much to go by I think I wont be buying from them until the 75% off sale after Christmas :(

Does anyone have any idea how I can go about decorating baubles? I bought photo ones in the Boots 75% off last year with intentions to put pics of dd in as keepsakes this year, but.. they were silver and flourscent pink (not very festive). Has anyone got a clue how I can cover that colour up, without colour cracking/smuding/glitter dropping etc. Can't think how it is possible to decorate them and cover up flourescent pink!? lol

Savvy - you can get glass paint. It's called paebo or something. OR you can get special glue (hi Tack) called mod podge, and you can paint it on, leave it to semi dry and roll it in glitter. If you use ordinary PVA it'll flake off and you'll have glitter everywhere.

That reminds me - I have some clear ones of those. I'd best start looking for photos to put in them.

I thought the Boots xmas range was so much better this year than last. I've only had a quick peep online so I can't really compare.
