• Good morning all, sorry I didn't come back last night I fell asleep around 9pm which is very early for me, just couldn't keep my eyes open.

Feeling refreshed and raring to go with this months challenge :D

Foxy, I think you have gone with the best option, it will help the anxiety but it will take a while for you to feel better so do keep taking the pills even if you don't see any immediate improvement. Hope you feel better soon hun.

Sounds like lots of you found some lovely bargains, could I be cheeky and ask if anyone is going to Tesco to keep an eye out for the cheap hairdryers for me, I am happy to pay for one inc postage. I desperately need a new one after hubby threw away the airflow attachment to mine rendering it useless :( also it's a longshot but a barbie car would be fab too, we have the rest of the set except the car. Will keep an eye out for the lego when I next go for you all too x

I had a look at your link Beki, says I am already registered to a panel that uses that so I think that may be linked to the Sony panel maybe? Big welcome to the forum hun.

Would have redeemed on viva yesterday but looks like it had already changed to £25 payments sadly, will try for £25 this month. A panel I was doing on shop and scan has rolled over to this week so another £10 from them too. Have lots to catch up on, ony went away for a week but had around 900 emails to go through

Morning everyone.

Good challenges again Elysia.

Thought I would start with I had this in an email:

intro_headline.jpg
bullet.gifSaturday 1 and Sunday 2 October 2011spacer.gifbullet.gif£0.00 insertion fees*spacer.gifbullet.gifValid for up to 100 auction-style listings

So that might help someone.

New Chow promotion is Beauty - so if you have perfume or other beauty reviews, 25p bonus for a review.

Morning everyone :D

Juliejim - congratulations on the new job! What will you be doing?

Right, I pledge to add more things to Ebay this weekend. Hopefully that will cover my £2.50 a day for a few days when I am too busy to do much else :o. DS's old Halloween costume finishes tomorrow night and currently has 4 bids and 22 watchers . I think that's the most I've ever had. Fingers crossed the bidding goes crazy tomorrow!

I'm feeling pretty good about Christmas now. I had a bit of a panic over the last couple of weeks but I did a bit more prezzie buying last weekend and feel better now. I've also started asking my family for prezzie ideas for themselves as my Dad and brother usually give me a nice easy list of DVDs they would like. I know Mum and Dad are giving it some thought but I think my brother refuses to acknowledge Christmas until at least half way through November!

What are you all up to today? I think I might give the whisky marmalade a go today. It all depends on how my back feels, it's really starting to hurt now. I had this pain when I was pregnant with my son and I had to see a physio. It's started earlier with this one and it REALLY hurts. It's annoying as I really want to make the marmalde and also some blackberry gin I have a good recipe for, but I'm not sure I can stand up for that amount of time. Oh well, if I have to stay sitting for long periods of time then I suppose I could get writing some reviews ;).

• Sounds like you have had lots of lovely parcels today Elysia. Thanks for the challenge, I think the £2.50 a day was one of the best motivators we have had so far so will be sticking with that this month. Sorry to hear about Ips, think that happened to me before a while ago but had no credits when it did so didn't realise you could lose it all. Very important to remember to cash out when you hit the threshold - you never know what might happen.

Thanks for the info on chow michelle, beauty is right up my street and I have loads of products I have been meaning to review for a while. I have a couple of weeks off my uni work so I shall join in with you all this month on the reviews, you wont be able to shut me up. Will take a look at yours first to get an idea of what to and what not to write, waffling is a bad habit of mine (can you tell lol). Is the chow promotion for this month or for the weekend, sorry if it's obvious but I don't usually review?

Good luck Nicky for the halloween costume in it's last few hours, hope you get a last minute bid war. Which reminds me I should get dd's haloween costume on there, with a lot of items I have yet to list. Glad you feel a bit better now you have some more Christmas shopping sorted, I honestly do not know how people manage leaving it until November/December to get it all done, I would be so stressed! That whisky marmalade sounds delicious! I was going to buy some at centre parcs as they had a clearance sale on lots of items, the preserves and chutneys were £1 each and they had whisky marmalade but forgot to go back before we headed home. I don't suppose you have a link to the recipe do you hun?

Totals for the month have broken my record so far, I have broken it down to see where the money has come from. Cashback £106.01 fb sales £150.00 ebay £85.76 surveys £56.59 panels £30.00 other £70.00 Total £498.36. I could have done better on the survey front but we did have a week away without internet access so I am very pleased.

So here is to October, we can do it!

• I agree, the £2.50 challenge was fab, lets do this :D

Elysia - I'm up for a race ;) DD is at nannys for a couple of hours so I'm going to try and write a couple again, I'm going for 15 this month

My totals for September are loads more than I imagined (not as good as others but I'm pleased with the result!

cash

£3 - piney
£7.25 -cashback
vouchers
£30 - argos (VO and o2 cashback)
£30 amazon (DY and Ips)

How hot is the weather  I think it's hotter today than it was on the 1st August!! I've been out and cut the grass, hopefully the last time I have to do it this year, it is a huge pet hate of mine!!

Is the chow promotion for this month or for the weekend, sorry if it's obvious but I don't usually review?

The promotion runs for the whole of October, so my advice would be if you have 2 weeks off, maybe get them written in word, and pace out how many you post in one go. People make the mistake of posting several in one go, then no-one reads/rates them, so you would only get the 25p. If you do want to do more than one per day, leave a few hours between each post, and try and read/rate a few yourself inbetween.

I looked through DY. I have 5 I haven't previously copied across. I just posted one of them across. I am not really a girlie girl, but I know there are some things around the house I can do if I put my mind to it.

Your review has to have a rating of helpful or above to qualify.

look at including:
price, where to buy it.
description of product - look, smell, what you use it for, how it makes you and your skin feel
any negatives to it
what you think of product size e.g. expensive but worth it, or not worth it,
would you buy it again yourself, would you recommend it to others.

That should get a VH rating at the least.

We can all do this in October.

I know I am making at least £2.50 a day on viva alone, so will try to maximise this elsewhere too.

I just remembered Q.co for the first time too. I have booked tickets to take the kids to Disney on Ice next month. DH said it was a good show this year, and he wanted to go, so I have impulsively booked them on the CC. Oops. I am going to try and keep it secret, but I bet I can't. They are going to be so thrilled as it has got Buzz and Woody in it, and you all know from DY how Toy Story mad they are.

Juliejim can't believe I forgot to say congratulations on the new job. You deserve it hon. One of the nicest people I know. I hope it is loads more money for you too.

Michelle - I went to Disney on Ice last year. I took DD and her friend. It was great - much better than expected. Take plenty of money though. One packet of popcorn was £7.50, and they wanted one each.

Savvy is selling herself short. She's written reviews before and they were fab. No waffling at all. ;)

Chick - You have a nice few hours. OH is taking DD down the shops, so I'll have a couple of hours peace and quiet too. Yippee.

Mum2three - you are most welcome to join in. No more lurking for you :) Every penny you earn now is one less to find at Christmas. You can easily get a few a few redeems in before the big day, and you'll get a head start for next year too. :) Good luck for your wedding next week. I hope it all goes smoothly, and that the sun shines for you.

Michelle - Beauty - would that just be cosmetics do you think, or perfumes, and bath products too. I'm definately not a girly girl either - my makeup gets an airing once or twice a year - three times if I'm lucky. :)

Savvy - that's another thing. Don't just put your review on Chow. Post it on DooU at the same time, and you'll be earning twice for the same one. OK there's twice the amount of rating, but the money will mount up more quickly.

I can't get my totals this month - with my computer being out of action for nearly two weeks, I didn't make a note of what I got and where. I'll start again now.

I'm up to £50 already. I was putting something on ebay today £50 BIN, but my dad bought it for my nieces Christmas present so I got paid cash, and no ebay/paypal fees to pay. Woohoo :D.

• Mummy2three - Welcome, bet you are looking forward to the big day
Michelle - The kids will love that, can't wait till DD is older so I can take her, I think I'd enjoy it just as much
Elysia, there is a HUGE amount under beauty, makeup, bath products, shaving products, perfume, hair care products!

I've got 5 I can copy over from DY and I've written 3 so far today. I think I'm going to focus on beauty products this month and get the most out of the promo. Just spoke to my friend, and she agree'd we should just do birthdays this year for the lil ones, I've already got my godson some clothes for his bday so no need to worry there, thats another 2 off the list :D

Shame they dropped it from 50 to 25p eh? I have never written a perfume review in my whole reviewing experience. I am going to have a good go at it though. I've always been a bit scared of them as everyone else seems to be able to talk about all the notes and stuff, and all I know really is I like it or not. I've got a month though to build up.

Elysia - any tips? I know you write good perfume ones.

I've done DOI before, but probably 2003 last time. I took my nephew and younger brother, and couldn't believe the prices they charged. It's always the same at this sort of thing isn't it. I've not fancied it again till this year as they have been a bit too girly and I thought it was too pricey unless they were going to be thrilled by it. Can't wait. I just wish I had thought of it earlier. When we went with my nephew, we were on the 2nd row back in the rows behind the rink, and at the end he got to shake some of the skaters hands, and it was magical. All those seats had gone. Oh well. I bet the tickets would have been twice as dear.
