  • Evening again, properly this time. :D

    I feel like I've not stopped today, with shopping, school run, kids, sorting pet stuff, bank, cleaning. I'm struggling a bit with my knees too today. All the walking has aggravated an old ligament problem, so my right one in particular is suffering a lot.

    DH came in luckily just as I had finished bathing the kids, so he took over reading stories, and then I had a lovely shower, ready to start tackling some other stuff now.

    I've not done any surveys yet, but do need to pop over to survey network as all links for the month run out today, plus i had an ipsos one too.

    It's going to be a busy weekend too, with my nephew's birthday party, and then picking up the pup. And I dare say there will be another cha competition.

    Elysia - I still haven't had chance to write those guides yet for you, but I haven't forgotten. xx

    Tried to do 3 surveys on Viva and it bummed me out on all of them :-(
    Haven't managed to pick up anything from Mr T, if you are out and about tomorrow Legend and see the Jessie duplo lego (jessie's roundup) at a reasonable cost (less than £13) please be a star and pick one up for me and I will gladly pay you the postage. DS got a footy match otherwise I would have made the trip to our local T Direct to see if there were any bargains to be had there.
    Went to the doc, was given 3 options - counselling (8 months for a referral!!), sleeping tablets (which I didn't really want as need to be able to wake up if I need to for the kids) or a mild Anti depressant to help the anxiety and make me sleep better. I went for option 3, don't know if this is the right thing to do or not. Still feel really on edge, haven't taken the script in yet.
    Been for a pampering session today - bought a Groupon deal earlier in the year and got facial, indian head massage, deep conditioning treatment and blow dry for less than £40, thought that was a bargain!
    Hasn't really made me feel any better tho :-(

    Foxy -hope everything goes ok with the tabs, sound like you have picked the best of the options, they may take a couple of weeks to kick in.

    That pampering deal sounds amazing, if you want a mse treat see if theres a college nearby that does health and beauty, as ours has a salon, all students are supervised, and knocks pounds off what most places charges, xx

    Ohh I thought of one I am not sure if it is on here.
    I was invited through another survey site so not sure how you join up and you can only earn a maximum of £5 amazon a month (unless you win member of the month) but its very easy to do you just need 50 points :D

    Everything will be ok in the end, and if it isn't ok then it isn't the end :)

    Ohh Beki - we like you, you can come again. :) I've not heard of that site. :)

    There is a bigger list of surveys - we all do different, but the ones in the first post are the main high earners. When we get the new thread set up, I'll probably list them all and we can compare what we each do.

    Knit - I think you've gone for the best option out of the three too. Get that script to the chemists - they can't start working if you don't take them.

    Michelle - don't rush with the guides. I think we'll carry on this year - all the info is here where we can find it. If it gets bigger next year, we'll close the first half in June, and do a two parter. There's only really Oct, and Nov left, so it seems a bit pointless.

    Right I'm off to sort out the challenge - Happy October everyone. :)

    morning all

    Elysia - I am way off a redeem, only just building it up again after last one. I will go and check what I am on (havent checked for ages lol).

    Well not quite as bad as I though, just under half way there, on about £9 something so not bad. I will hopefully be able to get to the £20 mark by end of this month if I put some effort into it.

    I did a few surveys yesterday, cant remember who they were for now but did about 4 or 5 might even have been more than that.

    We are having a day to ourselves today, will probs have to go up the town for a walk as need a bit of shopping but nothing else planned. Tomorrow we have to get shopping for OH's Mum and Dad and then we are going to see my Dad, havent seen him for nearly two weeks. He bought himself a new mattress for his bed (single bed) and said we can have the old one for the bed in our spare room as we have the bed but no mattress. The bed I got from Tesco ages ago when they had a sale on, it only cost me £7 lol.

    Pay the forfeit!Earn £2.50 a day by any means possible – using vouchers while shopping, surveys, writing reviews, eBay sales spread out over the week, etc. However you like to do it is ok. If by the end of the evening, you haven’t earned at least £2.50, you put £1.00 in your savings account/jar to be added to your totals at the end of the month.

    For DooU'ers - write at least 10 (NEW) reviews. For non dooU'ers - see if you can up the limit on the first challenge to £3.00. A struggle I know, but you can do it. :)

    Remember Quidco when buying presents! I don’t know about you, but I seem to have got out of the habit of using Quidco/TCB when I’m making a small purchase, thinking, oh it’s only pennies. That could be why my payments have gone drastically down. Make sure you use cash back sites for EVERY online payment, and don’t forget your reward cards in store. You’ll soon see the benefit.

    Now's the time for present buying and as Mum2one would say over on the other thread - 'Do the talk' sooner rather than later. Have a chat with friends and family and see who you can knock off the Christmas list. Don't be embarassed, they might be hoping the same thing. See if you can buy the kids, and cut the adults out this year, or say you'll do kids at christmas and adults on birthdays. Whatever you decide upon, don't go wild - set a budget and stick to it.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    It might seem a bit of a cop out doing the same challenge again so soon, but I think we all agree, we all had a great month doing this last time. It pushed us just that little bit more and that's what we need right now.
    Come on Ladies (and gents) there's only two full months left. We can make a difference between a great Christmas and a wonderful one.
    I am in on the £2.50 a day, it keeps me so motivated. Need to get back into ebay
    Adults in my family are getting home made xmas cakes and chocolate truffles, plus some pics of the kids, I have totally scaled down this year, i only have to get my eldest, and her birthday pressie as that is straight after in January, i have all the rest, my problem now is not buying uneccessary things from the grabbit board just because it is cheap
    haha saying that grabbit board have a decent grabbit on ugg style boots from dorothy perkins, seude with fur lining, for £6.95 delivered with 15% code or £6.60 for 20% stiudent discount, reduced form £40 bought a pair for my daughter, and got a pair for me for around the house as I dont partiularly like this style of boot , may be worth a look https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3521049 have all sizes except size 8 now as out of stock
    dont forget quidco at 5% cashback :) HTH
    Well done Rufus - I had quite a good day for surveys yesterday too. I finally was able to log back into Ips, and it's a bit disappointing to see a balance of nil. I hope they pull their finger out and send me loads of surveys to make up for it. :)
    OH has just been with the post. It's a wonder he was talking to me. :) I got a bottle of Bold laundry degergent of SuperSavMe, a parcel from the toy swap, and two large parcels off ArtsCow, and that's without any letters. His bag was full from our house alone. :rotfl:
    Thanks for the makeup bag code Rufus. I might do one of those for DD1.
    Starting off as I mean to go on this month - I've already done all my quick polls on T, and made on of my own, and done a survey already. Dad is coming over again this morning, so I'll have to work harder this afternoon.
    It's a free listing weekend again on ebay, if anyone has any stuff left to go on. I'm going to re-list my non sellers today, and list some other stuff tomorrow. :)
    Have a good day everyone :)
