  • Morning everyone.

Just getting chance to log on, as I've been messing round with someone's dog that had got out. Tried ringing the number on the collar several times with no answer so had to ring the dog warden to come and collect it. I don't know why I always end up sorting these things out. Probably as I'm soft as anything and can't actually stand by and watch it run round loose when the road at the end of the street is 40 mph and it would get run over.

Luckily my neighbour helped me sort it so we had a cuppa together while we were waiting for the warden.

It's nearly time to go get DS1 from school again soon, I can't wait till he is there till 3.
  • I agree with it being bad on Boots to start charging for delivery to the store. Out store is only tiny so if I want something from the bigger stores I have been ordering it online and then picking it up at my store as it murder trying to get OH to take me to the larger stores. i was lucky yesterday to get him to take me, even then he wouldnt come in, sat in the car waiting outside lol.

I have managed to redeem off SN this morning, a nice £20 to go in Paypal.
  • Well done Rufus. :)

Just back from Argos £120 in vouchers poorer - but boy does it feel good to know I didn't have to find the money from elsewhere. :D I was quite worried before, all the pressies I'd bought so far were in small boxes, and I mean really small, she'd wonder where the rest were. The ones I got today filled the car boot, so although only 6 gifts, they'll look quite impressive when they're wrapped. I'll have to wrap them and put them inside my bed (one of those where the mattress lifts up) there is definately no space to fit them anywhere else. I feel all Christmassy now. :D

  • I love doing a bootfull of Christmas shopping, it really does feel Christmassy then. I joke with DH that's I've not done a proper Christmas shop unless I have to return to the car to drop off some purchases I can't carry :D

I've been gently plodding on with the money making, mainly trying to get some more points on Maxi. I keep getting survey invites from them for around 250 points each, but get screened out of all of them, grrrr.

I've started thinking seriously about DS's 4th birthday, it's at the end of November. I've already got him quite a lot of prezzies I've picked up in sales over the year so I need to get them all out and see how much else I need. I have to be able to properly see the presents rather than read my spreadsheet or I can't do it!
I've been trawling Ebay almost everyday looking for bargain Star Wars figures to add to the ones I've already got. Star Wars is his biggest love so he's going to be over the moon with the toys I've already got, and I'm over the moon at the prices I've paid!

Just had an email from Payapl they have an incentive running from today till the 15th of October that you can get your Paypal fund reimbursed, up to £10, if you use money you earn from selling to buy stuff! Which is doable if your mE! That probably doesnt expalin it very well heres the link for the actual promo! https://www.paypal-marketing.co.uk/campaigns/eu00440/index.htm

  • Thanks for posting that Legend, my paypal isn't linked to my normal email so I tend not to check my messages often (helps to ensure those fake paypal emails don't catch me out lol) I'm trying to work out it out, wouldn't you have to sell loads through ebay to get up to the £10 in fees back, all that money would be hanging around in your account. This is actually ideal for me as I plan to buy gift cards with my balance rather than withdrawing so it works out nicely. Maybe we need an ebay challenge the next few weeks to tie in with this nicely.

Well done on your bargains Elysia, I think now that MSE is in Christmas mode it's all getting exciting now isn't it.

Sounds liek you are very organinsed Nicky, well done I'm sure he will love them :D

I think basically you have to earn £30 and then spend it through Paypal then you will get fees up to £10 back! I think!

  • I'm not sure it is Legend, I don't know if I am reading it wrong but you have to sell items on ebay to the value of £30 of higher and spend that money via paypal instead of withdrawing from your account. Whatever paypal fees you had to pay for those auctions (I'm not sure how much paypal charge per transaction) would be refunded. If paypal take 10% fees you would have to make £100 to get £10, if paypal take 5% fees then you would have to make £200 to get £10. That is how I read it, does that sound right?

Wow Bunbun - free piano how lovely. They don't have a violin knocking about that they don't want do they? DD2 starts violin lessons tomorrow. How's the dog settling in?

Savvy - I know Boots are doing 3 for 2 but they don't really cater toys wise for kids over 7 or 8. This is the reason I've had to go to Argos or I would have got my Boots points too :(

Nicky - Ds is going to be 4 - of course. Time flies doesn't it? Well done on getting all those bargains, he'll love them. :D

Legend thanks for telling us that. I think paypal take 5% so you would have to earn off ebay £200. Like Savvy says - I feel a challenge coming on. ;)

Michelle - you're quiet. I hope things are ok.

Everyone else who's not been on today, I hope you are ok, and doing well.

My thing that shall not be mentioned, is coming tomorrow. :j Woohoo. :D
