The best thing to remember with reviews is - before you bought something, what are the things you would want to know. A washing machine you can get all the spin revs, and sizes etc online - what they don't tell you how noisy it is, and whether you can get lots of clothes in one load, and whether it opens while its mid wash (like Michelles) :) These are things people would really like to know. or say a tumble drier - how long does a drier full of towels take to dry, that sort of thing. Hints and tips are great too. It's easy once you give it a go - I have trouble with book and film reviews - I give too much away.

Hiya everyone - had a visitor again this morning. Not long got rid of him. ;)

Claire - I know how that feels - I've not spoken to my sister for 8 months, and I don't really get on with my mum. I hope it can be resolved soon. You've done really well with your totals - You've been on hols and had the kids off nursery. I didn't really expect anyone to do that well in all honesty - myself included, so be proud of yourself. :)

Savvy - well done on the T redeem. I seem to have got back in the habit of only doing high paying surveys, I really need to get back into it, especially as the payouts are now taking about 8 weeks rather than 4 months.

Rufus - well done on doing the challenge - an extra day or two to get to redeem won't matter, you completed what you set out to do, and hopefully you're back in the swing of things again now. :)

Nicnax - you're doing well on Viva. Well done hun. The best day for Viva is Wednesday and Friday - so more will be added later ;)

Pablo's - how are you hun? and bump? Hope things are well

Nicky - you too! Did you get some trousers like you wanted? What day are you back in school?

  • Hiya everybody, lurker here! Is Vivatec the same as Viva? and has anybody used "User Zoom" to do survey type stuff? I'm not sure what it pays and if there is any point in doing these, they look long winded to me:o

Hi Pablosmummy - I joined Dooyoo in 2009 but only posted this week and nearly stopped right away. Luckily there are a lot of nice people on there and I have changed my mind. It is worth posting and although I dont know many who post on there from here, Elyssia does and she has been really helpful as well.

I did a film review and put in the plot and ending rather than just what I thought of it. 2 people were not very nice about it although one has contacted me since to say she has regraded and given me a few tips and explained what the problem was. I now know it was wrong the way I wrote it but just think there were better ways of dealing with someone doing their first couple of reviews. It probably threw me because everyone on here has been so friendly I just expected the same over there. I am planning to put another one on today so it has not put me off and as I mentioned earlier there are a lot of nice people who post.

All I can say is the same as the nice people have told me. Keep to the guidelines and just accept that some people genuinely will not like what you have written and will hopefully tell you in a nice way while others will rate you badly and leave it at that. Take any well meaning advice and ignore the others

I 'think' I put a warning in the first post about DoU. As newbies sometimes your reviews aren't too good - very often when a more experienced reviewer tries to help, we get revenge rates - I've had a fair few this week alone. Some of the 'older' members aren't very tactful saying what needs to be amended, sadly. Don't let it put you off, once you lose your newbie banner (after a month) people should be nicer.

September - Viva is Vivatic.co. uk. I've not heard of the other site, so can't recommend them. Has anyone else joined it? I'll do a bit of digging and see what I can find out - be back in a mo.

I've used the search bar on here and can only find posts to do with cameras. It can't be widely known. I'll have a look on google back it a tick.

I've had a bit of a push on Toluna this morning but got it mixed up with MutualP which redeems at 30000 so thought I'd managed to get enough to redeem and I hadn't so I'm right miffed.

I have to admit, when I had a look at the reviews I was shocked at how good some of them were! Which actually put me off doing them myself :o

It would take days to do a really good review (for me) so I haven't gone back to the site lol:cool:

I dont do reviews because to be honest I dont think I will have the time and the attention span! Although everyone on here does really well with them so I suggest giving them a go but if you dont like it you can get by on surveys alone! lol
I am doing some diary thing for my survey this week about personal hygiene so that should be interesting and I get 780 points at the end! Hopefully I can have a good September and October and then chill a little over November and December, well I say chill but I mean redirect my attention to buying presents, wrapping, decorating and all other Christmassy things!

  • I havent been sick (so far..) so today is a good day! did 2 85ps on viva, havent got through any others yet but nevermind. I think I'm going to pass on the reviews at the moment, I dont think my brain will focus long enough to actually write anything half decent..most of the time I'm lucky if my posts make sense. I'll stick with surveys and ebay, every little helps!
Thanks for all the help though, starting to get my head around it all now.

You do get better with the reviews though. I can write a decent one in about 20 minutes these days, because I do think before I sit down. If I am reading a book or playing a game with the kids say. My white goods ones were nearer to 45 minutes though checking facts.

I noticed I have a user zoom thing on my computer. I have no idea where I got it from, what it is there for??

I'm intrigued now to see what is said about them.
