I do lots of jam making. Dependant on what fruit you're using you either need jam sugar or preserving sugar. It will tell you on the back of the packet. The recipe I use is there too. If you fancy something special I have a big recipe book and I can look some up for you. I have a big jam kettle given to me by my neighbour, but I usually just use my biggest saucepan. It must have a thick bottom though.
I've been busy reviewing all day as there were no surveys anywhere for me to do.
Forgive me, for I have fallen off the thrifty wagon :rotfl:
I saw a jam making starter kit in John Lewis the other day, so went back to by it today, BUT paid in vouchers earned from surveys
Unfortunately I then went to Lakeland, and had to pay cash except for a £5 voucher
Seriously, thanks for the info Elysia, I've got a huge stockpot, so will give it a go in that. Do you have any blueberry jam recipes please ?
Hi to any newbies, including Max0 -
Evening everyone
I still havent got a crown lol, think may be my face dont fit. Still I will carry on with the reviews. Cant be bothered to do on tonight, been out all day and head is throbbing. I had one survey that I finished tonight and thats about it since Sunday.0 -
There are quite a lot of brilliant recipes from Wheezl and friends. Was on here, Frugal Challenge, but she set up a website with recipes and now it appears that she has a blog thing. Anyway loads of Jam recipes at the moment.

I must be doing something wrong. My totals don't seem to be going up. My Viva has been at 10.70 now for ages, dispite doing surveys. Although a lot of the dam things say I was not suitable in the end. Today I made a typing mistake and put the wrong postcode, and got told that the whole survey I had done was not valid as they couldnt trust me, cos the Postcode was incorrect. 25minutes wasted. So fed up with trying to make money and not getting anywhere.
On the sewing front the shop that was stocking my stuff has changed hands and is turning into a jewellry one, so he doesnt want my stuff, all but one bag were returned. So only £7 there. Gone into the holiday pot as we have a holiday next week.
Perhaps when i return there will be a better number of surveys etc that will pay me something for my time! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Sorry to hear that Mooloo. I think it's a case of all or nothing with surveys - you have to be dedicated and have no distractions. I did that myself on a Viva survey last week. I clicked theres 5 people and not four, so it's easily done.
Skier girl - woohoo welcome to the club. Are you using an ordinary large saucepan? I have a blueberry recipe but it's got lime in. you can easily omit that, I'll type it in the next post.
Rufus - I do nominate, it's just that they are double checked I suppose at DoU HQ.
Savvy - the exact same thing happened to me the other week. I must have two accounts at T online, and I'd mistakenly ordered it on the one I don't use.
Legend - I've been trying to get one for DD1. It's not something she needs at the mo, but it's a cheaper alternative to the ipad I was thinking of getting her for her 21st. She can have extra pressies then too.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

BLUEBERRY AND LIME JAM
The subtle yet fragrant flavour of blueberries can be illusive on it's own. Adding a generous quantity of tangy lime juice enhances their flavour and gives this jam a wonderful zesty taste.
Makes about 3lb.
1.3kg or 3lb blueberries
finely pared rind and juice of four limes
1kg of preserving sugar.
Put blueberries and half the sugar in a bowl and crush with a potato masher. Leave aside for four hours. Tip in a pan and add rest of sugar and lime. Heat slowly until sugar is dissolved. Increase heat and bring to the boil. Boil rapidly for four minutes until 105 degrees Cent or until setting point is reached.
Removed from heat for 5 minutes, then pour into sterilised jars.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

I noticed I got disqualified for a 400 pt ipsos survey I had done before I went away too, so it is not just you mooloo. Easy to make mistakes. I put mine down to rushing to try and do as much as I could before going away.
I got another review on both sites. now at 34/45.
Washing machine is loaded up again as it is meant to be nice tomorrow. I've no idea where it all comes from, as I did a few loads while away too. Good job I did.
I've managed a couple of surveys today. I am at £47.50 on YG, and 980 points on GTM. So tantalisingly close, I can almost feel it. Nearly there.0 -
sorry nicky I didn't realise you had already posted the recipe for the blackberry and apple loaf. I must have missed the links when I was reading through the pages from when I was away. I will give it a go if I have enough blackberries!

Well done on the crowns Elysia!
I've had a good few surveys today but probably only because i wasn't online yesterday - feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment so haven't been very good on DY or Chow.
