  • Not psychic hon, just you can't keep knocking yourself about like you are without it hitting you at some stage.

I am having a mixed morning.

Good news, I got my £50 DY cheque, did a survey on VO and YG, and got my lovely parcel thanks very much Elysia. You are too kind by far. xxx Made my day.

And then the bad news - the kids thought it would be a good idea to fight over the nintendo DS, one pulling each way, and the whole thing snapped in two with broken wires and the lot. The best I can see for a new equivalent on amazon is £109. I am gutted. Typically before going on hols when it would have been most useful for entertaining them in the car and odd bits of time if the weather wasn't that good.

Add to that, the cat is whining at me to go out and he can't because we are going to the cattery at 6pm, and he knows and he will not come home, and the fact I can't find the vaccination certificate either that he needs to go, and the :( are just about winning so far today. I was up till 1 last night ironing, and up at 7 so not feeling that patient either.

~So, if while you are looking, anyone sees a great offer on one please let me know. :o

Oh michelle - and there I was saying about my bargain. I feel bad now. :( I don't think you're going to get a bargain today - everywhere has put the DS's up as they are trying to shift the 3D one.

If it happened earlier - I could have sent our spare one to you for them to use on hols. I'm glad the package got there safely. :)

  • I've told them they have to do some jobs to earn some pennies to buy another one. I felt bad for shouting at them, as DS1 was very upset, but they still have one, they will have to share.

If they have to earn it they might look after it a lot better.

Feeling a bit better. My sister is here and took charge of the kids. she has just gone for a walk with them to let me get on, and they are bringing some chips back for lunch.

I'm sure the prices will go back down again, and I'll just have to wait till I see a bargain.

Found the cat vaccination certificate at least in with some other paperwork, so one less worry, and I think I am a bit further on than I was.

Hope things are picking up for you Michelle. Also, hope you are feeling a bit better Elysia :)

I've just spent an hour on Looney writing opinions and doing polls. I had a nice surprise as one of my opinions is up to 41 now so I got 2000 bonus points :D It adds up nicely. Savvy - I answered your duck opinion and it's now on 21 so you should get points now.

DS had to save his birthday money to buy himself a new DS, which I got off ebay for about £50. I didn't see the point in paying for a brand new one - he has had 2 now, one which I sold on as was working, but wasn't the right colour for him, the second one just died on me, and although I had taken it to a local repair shop they told me it was the main board, which wouldve cost £50 to replace! If it is in good condition, there was one buyer on ebay who offered to repair it, and also would have taken the old one in part exchange. May be worth a try?

DD is complaining that her throat hurts, and has spent the last hour fast asleep. Feel like a nap myself, but have a mountain of ironing still to attack!

Yes I'm still on target for my £2.50 a day. I have challenged the ebayer who has said their parcel hasn't arrived, and ebay are now involved themselves. They have asked me to prove postage, which I have and as they are the only buyer in Germany it may be in my favour, seeing as they had an unpaid dispute against them originally, I strongly feel that they are doing it to get their own back and also have the item and I will end up out of pocket, but at least I've tried! Got to take a photo and upload the POP to them, so that's on my list for later too.

Also I had a phone call late yesterday telling me I had won 2 tickets to a 80's flashback concert at a local park with bands such as Human League and Level 42 performing. !!!!!! is I can't go on the date its on so don't know whether to try and sell them on - retail they are about £40 each!
    What does everyone think?
Hope you are feeling a bit better Elysia xx

Foxy - I don't blame you. DD won some concert tickets once, and she didn't want to go, but it was about two days before - If we'd have had more notice, I'd have ebayed them.

I should watch what you're doing sending the DS's off to be repaired. It it was a proper company, it'd be fine, but I'm always reticent (SP) about people who think they know what's wrong, and ending up making matters worse - mind you if they're broken, they're worthless, so in for a penny, in for a pound.

I hope DD feels better soon. :)

It takes place on 20th August, am going to try on Netmums and FB as really it needs to be someone local. I just don't want people thinking I'm trying to rip them off as I didn't pay for them in the first place...

To be honest, DH has been saying for a little while that the battery wasn't charging properly, and I need to get him to look at it. To me, we will be lucky to do anything with it, as the wires had been snapped and the hinge section shattered.

DH is pretty handy. He fixed his ipod when a wire came loose, so i will have to see what he can do for me. I've saved the bits and see what he says, but to me it looks like the wires are very small so soldering them back together will be tricky, and if it is close to needing a new battery too things might be a bit tricky. Looking round, there don't seem to be many DS lites about, so it might have to be a dsi when we replace, so then I will need to think the best way to do it. My sister said she might be able to get one from her place of work using her staff discount of 10%, or whether to just save up the amazon vouchers as then technically it is free apart from my time.

I made them do some jobs today, little stuff like helping me make beds and sort toys out. At least I rang DH earlier before he came in and shouted at them too.
