    hi all, yes it is stupid o'clock and I am still up, told you toluna will be an obsession. Have just read that if you leave an 80 word opinion on a topic you get 100 points. Maximum earnings per month for this is 5000. So you can do this 50 times. I was wondering why people were leaving really long comments on my topics. I will make sure I do 15 long ones a week oo er. The only thing is the points are done every few weeks so you cant really keep track of it can you.

    What I think I might do is write the long opinions in word so i can use the word counter and then I can also keep track of how many I have done :D

    anyway must go to bed!

    I write the opinions in word too, that way you know you're meeting the word count.
    I don't tend to try many of the main surveys on Toluna anymore as I was 'not suitable' for nearly every one. I could spend hours on surveys and not have a single point to show for it. That's why I prefer the opinions and quick polls as they are guaranteed points :)

    HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL

    Please could I join on here, found this thread october last year but still managed to make £170 to put towards christmas presents etc. Would really love to be money neutral this year, helps out no end, and I love a challenge!

    Have decided one of my resolutions for this year is to start making jewellery, firstly for friends birthdays, mothers day etc but with a bit of practice I hope to start selling some towards the end of the year, any tips as to how I could go about this would be great. Many thanks.

    Going to sort through all my junk and start listing if noit just for the want of space. It takes so long to sort it all out, take pictures, write desriptions, list, package up and once sold toddle to the post office looking like a pack horse lol I'm going to have to take it in little steps to muster the enthusiasm.

    I agree, Ebay is time consuming. I didn't bother with it much last year but then I missed having the money in Paypal at Christmas, so I'm going to force myself this year. That's why this thread is so good for me, having Ebay as part of the first challenge will really motivate me :D.

    I tend to break selling on Ebay into little steps and then do one step over a few nights:

    1. Sort out things to sell.
    2. Make sure everything is presentable. Wash and iron clothes etc.
    3. Take photos of everything. I always take a few of each item at different angles so I can choose the best.
    4. Write the descriptions into Word. This is the most time consuming bit and can take me days/weeks to do!
    5. Weigh everything and make a note of the items weight and postage cost. I use the Royal Mail price finder for that.
    6. List items on Ebay.

    I find it much easier to do all the photoing one night etc, rather than trying to get one item listed from scratch.

    Now I've said all that, I suppose I really should make a start on it myself :o. Today I will try to sort through the bags of old toys and clothes and put aside anything I think might sell.

    Oh, I have a question. My son has quite a few In the Night Garden toys that he has outgrown. Most of it looks pratically brand new. Would it be better to list them all together as one lot, or list them all seperately?
    Happy New Year everyone, here's to a fabulous money making year!

    This post is reserved for Challenges.

    Challenge 1: January 2011.

    1. THE AIM IS TO MAKE £50 ON EBAY. (after all ebay/paypal fees and postage has been taken into account).

    Have a sort out and see if there's any presents you received that you don't like and can re-gift. If there's something you wouldn't give to your worst enemy. List that. ;)

    Have a sort through the kids toys and list anything they haven't played with in a while.

    Have a general de-clutter and see what else you can find. You may be amazed. If you've not done eBay before give it a go - it's a bit addictive. :)

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    2. OPEN A SEPARATE CHRISTMAS SAVINGS ACCOUNT.
    If you haven't already, can you open a separate savings account for Christmas money? It will be so much easier for you.
    Go through quidco and there's an RBS current account that you can join online and it only takes 5 minutes. No cash back for it though sadly.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    3.SAVE UPTO £5 WHEN YOU DO YOUR SHOPPING

    When you do your shopping, at the bottom of the till receipt it says 'You have saved' sometimes it might say £20 and sometimes if you only go in for a few bits it might say £1.28

    Put the amount you have saved into your Christmas savings account - upto a maximum of £5.

    For example - if you save £20 - put in £5 and if you save £1.28 put in that.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    4. Save for January sales!
    Find a sealed money box, and everytime you come home from shopping, empty your purse of all the coppers (silver too if you want to save more), but make sure you have put the money aside for the challenge above first. ;)
    This is not to be opened UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES - this will be opened on the 17th December (a week before Christmas) in readiness for the Sales. :j
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    This seems like a lot, but the hard work is going to be the eBay one. Remember you have a whole month to complete it, so don't rush. Take your time!!!

    List a few items a week, and let it run it's course. Then list a few more. This is not a competition who can earn the most - it's a challenge to see if YOU can earn £50 by turning unwanted stuff into money. ;)

    Here's the challenge Misskaty
    Elysia puts them onto the first page, post 3 in case you miss any in the future :D

    Hi and welcome Piglet :D.
    Great idea to make jewellery, it's something I've dabbled in but I've only made a few little bits. We'd love to see some photos of your finished pieces.

    Some ladies on here sell their craft items so I'm sure they'll be along soon with lots of advice. I would imagine around Christmas time there will be lots of craft fairs that you could get a stall for and sell your jewellery at. If you don't think you'll have enough for a stall you could try Ebay or even having a jewellery party and inviting all your friends.

    Morning all and Happy new year!!!
    Spent last night filling out my spreadsheet and found that I was up to 1000 points on opinion world so redeemed for a £10 voucher. Wohoo!!!
    Also said to hubby about the ebay challenge and he said I could list his spare car parts, so hopefully that will help. Not sure he realises that I get to put the money in the pot but I'll let him know after they have sold!!! lol
    Right off to play some bingo, this money making is seriously addictive.

    I had that this morning Legend, went to Reward Tv, I didnt put my details in, just came out. Went in to Survey Network again and it had the invitation to join Opinion World so filled that in, got the email where you verify your email address, clicked on it and it started asking questions so was filling them in, got to the bit where it asks what town you live in and that was it, wouldnt go any further. Tried putting different towns in incase it didnt like my one lol but even putting London in it still came back and asked me to do it again.

    I have kept the email and will try again later in the week, may be their site is down or something.
