My daughter's name is Cerys, and apart from Cerys Matthews I didn't know anyone else of that name. Within 6 weeks of having her back in 1999, I heard another mother had named her new baby Cerys too, and a little girl in my youngest daughter's class at school (who's big broher was in my Cerys' class) is called Carys.
I must say she gets some funny spellings at Christmas on her cards!Donna
Economy; careful management; providence. Whether you call it thrifty or frugality it all comes down to getting more for your money.0 -
Hi all
I can't remember if it was on here, but I remember reading about a bingo site that lets you play in a newbies room for 24 hrs. Does anyone know what its called please ?0 -
Hi everyone  Hope all are well.
Elysia - Hope your daughter had a lovely day, sorry to hear you didn't get much sleep due to the Boots sale. I think I was up about the same time as you, I must have been one of the lucky ones to have had my basket emptied overnight otherwise I would have been able to checkout at 4.50am like others but got caught up trying to add things to my basket so gave up in the end and went into store instead. There wasn't alot worth buying to be honest but still managed to spend £40 in boots points, found a S&G set for me (hooray!) a few things for dd and a couple of bits for hubby. Came back and managed to get some items in my basket and checkout and spent £20 of my ebay profits on paypal.
I'm glad there wasn't much left, could have spent a fortune unnecessarily otherwise, I think I have basically sorted most birthdays and the bulk of Christmas now.
Did more spending than saving today, felt disheartened with the surveys so going to wrap the presents I have and pack them away. Hubby is getting nosey so want to wrap them all up and number them and keep a list on my netbook of what each one is and who it's for lol, I have a system! Need the space for more deliveries oooopss.
On the bright side, the rest of the shopping now will be done in December with all the vouchers and money we make on here so feeling quite elated. And.... my new jacket arrives tommorow, my belated birthday treat to myself. Hubby doesn't know yet so not sure how I'm going to explain that one!
Well done everyone on money making, you are doing brilliantly and have inspired me to slog on, love ya all xComping wishlist for 2017

Savvy - well done. You are doing a fantastic job too, whatever you may think. Add it up this way - if you redeem once a fortnight for BP on it's own, that's £130. Surveys might not be a lot, and not very often, but it all mounts up. Add to that your ebay, and a few bits of money saving here and there. Just think about the money you'll have that you won't have to suddenly 'find' from somewhere.I :heartpuls M.S.E.

Well done on your BP everyone.
legend - lol @going around.... and i thought the point of bp was to get vouchers...I only go on in the day, but am always trying to think of new topics. Well done on your lists
savvy - thanks for the advice ;-) , i cant see this going well to be honest at the moment i got them email me every hour, saying it is faulty, saying they`re having all the money. Its so annoying....i have reported them and ebay is looking into it and will be back in touch in 24hrs.
I`m upto 30000 ponts on looney but still waiting until the 1st to do anymore opinions, as I cant get anymore points for them until them.
Not really been upto much apart from blogging some cards, just had the new wine buffs cd from create and craft, only because i had postage back and £10.00 voucher so it was money neutral.
On a positive note if you test drive the new citroen c4 they`ll give you a £10 marks and spencer voucher, so booked in to have a go as its only down the roadChallenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -
SKier girl - it's costa bingo but you HAVE to make a deposit first. Obviously only people who have just joined can play so there's more chance of winning.I :heartpuls M.S.E.

Susan - what a great idea to do the test drive. Knowing me though, I'm so soft, I'll be going home with one. I get talked into anything, I'm so gullible.
So sorry to hear about ebay - I had a few problems with one of my listings too. In all honestly it was my fault - just a typing error! I refunded them £10 to keep them sweet, but my item really underpriced in the first place. Grrrr
Diddly - I can imagine the concoctions you get with the name cerys - I think Elysia has every single version of the name, beginning with A and c's instead of s, today she even had a couple with a few H's in????I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

Evening all,
I was wondering if I could join in with you lovely lot? Let me tell you all a bit about me, I live in NI with my DH and 2 DS's (3 & 6). I work full time and my DH works away in England alot (he's away now till end of feb) so most of the time I feel like a single parent lol. We are trying our best to stop overspending and make saving where possible. I have not really done much thifty giftying this month but have been following this thread. I have however managed to save £300 this month!!!! Not really sure how I did that (think the GC challenge helped) but will need it as both cars need taxing (Feb & March) and also have the xmas electricity bill due soon, so it will all help.
I have tried my hand at surveys before but never really got the bug, if I'm totally honest I think I joined that many I got a bit overwhelmed. I also found I got screened out a lot, mainly due to my location grrr. Anyway I was wondering if anyone could explain Toluna to me? Had a quick look but not sure I get it. I had a quick look at bp today also and would like to join but I noticed if you refer a friend then you get extra points so I held out and thought I would ask on here if anyone would like to refer me? Just pm me with the details you need. Anyone have any tips or direction for bp? I sort of get the concept but I'm easily confused, lol.
I have a few items to go on ebay but I thought I would wait till at least Jan was over as everyone is always skint after xmas so I thought I would have a better chance of getting decent prices a little later in the year. Last xmas (2010) I made a fair few presents and they went down a storm, especially my flavoured vodka. I am going to do them again but I want to get started early this year so they have more of a kick to them!
Right I have dronned on for long enough so will sign off for now. Any help with the above question would be greatly appreciated as I am determined this year will be more frugal than the last!

Kahuna - Welcome to the thread hun. We love it when new members join in. Pull up your chair and get comfy, you may become addicted.
BP - if someone has Pm'd you about the referal, signing up is the first step. Do everything it says on your profile page, validate your email address etc. Check to see if there's any surveys you can do.
What you must do it post 10 times on the forum every day. This gives you 1,000 points. Then you play 18 games on auto (press 18 at the top right hand corner) once you are in the bingo room of your choice. This is basically it. You DO need to do this everyday if you intend to redeem that week as you need to actually play 2,000 worth of points on bingo (not the slots).
Toluna - fill in the surveys every day. Just try, if you get screened out don't worry, you might be ok for the next one.. You can also do the sponsored polls on the homepage (these are worth anything from 30 -90 points each) but half of the time they lead you to a full survey. You are also able to add your own opinions and get people to reply, and polls, where people vote. You will get extra points for posting, and points for people answering. It's a bit like a community - if you answer peoples polls (hopefully) they will answer yours. This will boost your points up. With toluna, it's not easy, you have to work for it, but the rewards can come quite quickly if you put your mind to it.
Do the surveys again. IF you are lucky enough to get a few a day that you complete - they all mount up, and if there are too many and you feel overwhelmed, there's nothing to say you can't delete a few. Just do as many as you can cope with.
Are you up for the eBay challenge? I would be great if you could join in. I know it's late in the month, but even if you do a couple - that's a bit more money saved.
Well done on what you've done so farI :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!
