  • Morning all, I swear my luck can not get any worse. I spent a good hour last night writing a really good review and I don't think I've saved it :( I've searched everywhere on my comp for it but it's not there. I am SO annoyed, after lacking in motivation I finally managed to write one and it's disappeared. GRRR!!! Only got £10 more till I'm at my target tho!

Hi all - I know, I know I went awol again. Had a nightmre couple of weeks tbh.
My parents went away on their 3 week hols and I took over phoning my Gran each night who is 87 with Alziemers and pics dementia but still lives at home with carers 3 times a day. I phone each night to check she is ok. Well 1/2 way through their hols I got a call from a carer to say Gran had shingles and they needed to admit her to hospital. She was refusing to go but docs said she would have to, they called paramedics who then called me as the docs had failed to mention the mental health problems so they had no legal way to force her and she was still refusing. I was told i would have to agree to have her sectioned which would be for 6 months if she didn't agree to go in. I agreed to this as I knew without it as she was by now unable to keep even fluid down she would die. Phoned to make arrangements for someone to be with her until social workers arrived to be be told then by paramedic that he had convinced her to go. Anyway if poss to make this story a bit shorter she has been in for 9 days and I have been on top of working full time, phoning everyday and going up with dh to visit, a 3 hour round trip and sorting things out to have others visit too when I couldn't, taken on everything as didn't want to contact my parents and ruin their hols, something my elder sister made no bones about telling me i was wrong to do. Her charming words "On your head be it, and I hope you can handle the s**t when they are angry with you for it". She has apologised since but I am still angry to get that when she has visited once and not phoned there at all yet she is only 20 mins away from the hospital!! Anyway my parents get back tomorrow and they now know and i think are fine about me not telling them. We have been told Gran cannot go home ever and will go into a home, something i know is for the best but i know she didn't want with a passion. I am still chatting with social workers to give them an idea of things ready for meetings when Mum and Dad are back. It has been awful and I know my health is now suffering because of the stress of it all. On the plus side the weight I'm losing through stress is perfect for christmas hey!!??

I am sorry to off load like this, hardly seems fair when I haven't been around for any of you guys for a while. Dh is out, i've had some flavoured vodka and just getting a bit upset. Silly sod!!

I'll read back properly on what you have all been up too now. I know when scanning through I misses a couple of birthdays so I hope you both had a great day xx

off load all you like hun , you have certainly been through it lately x

Hi all, managed to get a few more presents wrapped last night, still got a bagful to do but making inroads at least!
DS won his first football match of the season this morning - we have seen glimpses of skill from them but 5-1 today woohoo! DS made two and scored one himself so dad has now taken him out to treat him! OH is now suffering man flu as well as

No snow here, but it looks like it maybe could!
I'm going to spend the afternoon tackling my mountain of ironing.

DD is still singing Away in a manger argh!
Motto: You gotta be in it to win it!:j

2015 Wins: Nothing yet, but keeping trying :T
  • Quick flying visit. Wrote quite a few cards this morning and got them in the post.

The kids are driving me mad though. They are far too excited. I am so stressed with them as they are from one room to another getting stuff out, and I can't keep up with them and do all the other stuff I need to do. Aaaaaah!!!!

Might take them to soft play tomorrow and try and burn them out a bit, then at least I could catch up with some of the knitting while they run round.

DH has it easy doing 12 hours at work. I am so fed up and tired. Going to let them go on the cbeebies site now and try and do a bit of cleaning.

LOL Foxy - My dd now knows all the words to partridge in a pear tree (the most annoying christmas song ever) and we had to sing it twice before bed, and once this morning all ready. The sun is still shining but it's gone pitch black over the back of us, so something is on the way. :(

Chel - I got two of the soap and glory sets. My daughter loves hers, and the other is for my sis's birthday. We were quite excited by how much was in there. If you add it all up individually you are saving loads. ;) Treat yourself. I got a voucher off Mys today off my lovely postie too.

Cornish - Oh no. Write it again while you remember. I've done that before, hurredly written a new one because I'd lost the first. I've got crowns for them too, even though I thought they weren't as good as the first. I think it concentrates your mind and you do a better job. Come on hun - £10 is three days worth with two reviews a day - only six more to go - you CAN do it, or I'll be there giving you a kick up the backside.

OH NO - it's tipping down now - it was lovely sunshine two minutes ago. Looks like I won't be going out later after all. I don't need anything - I just wanted a change of scenery for a bit.

  • If you wrote the review onto C it might have autosaved it for you.

Kids calmed down a bit, thank goodness. I was worried I would lose my rag before bedtime. :o

It's been quiet on here this afternoon.

Well done Cornish on posting your review. I've done two and might get another one on later. I'm just off to check out grabbit, can someone stop me if I buy anything. LOL

I didn't buy anything off grabbit but DD did haha.

Just incase you've not been over there. There is an offer of a free book here. You've got to hurry though, there are just over 4,000 left.

    Evening all

Have hardly had a moment spare to come on today. We were out until late this afternoon visiting OH's family and taking presents round. Came home and sorted out some of the cooking for tomorrow's early Xmas dinner. The veg is cooked, will just have to do the roast potatoe and parsnips and put the meat in. My salmon will go in the oven but will only take about 10 mins.

I just did a NV survey for Viva, was half way through a Pop one too when it got stuck and didnt show the next arrow button to go on, waited ages for it to come up and went back a few pages and forward again but didnt work so a bit annoyed as I had been on it a while.

I might get on tomorrow morning if I am up early enough before OH gets up as he wants the lap top once he is up.
