Hi all I hope you aren't too snowed in - we haven't had a single flake :-(

Elysia - could you email me the spreadsheet please, think you should have my email already in the piney one?
Have just tried to register on there, but said they were experiencing technical difficulties so couldn't do it, will have to try again later!

Posted my last ebay parcel today - I'm not listing anything else now until after christmas, although I might spend some time putting a few bits on the fb page - I couldn't believe how quickly things sold on there!
Still got a bit of wrapping to do, can't ask oh to do it now either - to put it bluntly Savvy he hit the wall in temper, enough said! Its mainly the kids stocking stuff to be wrapped, so I can do that next week. Still got a couple of presents to buy, but break up on Tuesday so will be able to do that next week anyway.
Cooking for 10 on Christmas Day now - can cope with the cooking, but not sure where everyone will sit!

Had DD school play this afternoon - she was the innkeeper's wife! She sang her little heart out bless her, and is now parading round with my heels on and her santa hat dancing whilst watching Alvin & the chipmunks!

    Evening all

OH has gone out to see his mate and take their card round and some bits for the kids so I am home alone. YD is out, we dropped her at her ExBF's this morning (??) and havent heard from her since, his phone is switched off or more than likely out of battery and she doesnt have one of her own at the moment. I wont start to worry too much until it gets to about 9.30 and I still havent heard from her then I will be walking a hole in the new rug.

I had a lot of surveys this evening on T, every other quick poll took me to a survey and I qualified for loads of them.

I forgot to put the review on this morning before we went out so put it on later this afternoon. I have found one more on DY still to go over so that can be tomorrow's.

Rufus - are you happy with your own spreadsheet or do you want this new one? If you would like it, could you pm me your email addy?

I hope DD is ok. Is there no way of contacting Ex Boyf house just to put your mind at rest? I'd be frantic by now.

  • Happy birthday bunbun!!!
Chel - I hope the bill isnt too big!
Legend - DS is a cutie!
Rufus - Hope DD gets in contact soon
Elysia - Going to PM you my addy if thats ok

I'm really slacking on chow, I really really realllllyyyyyy cannot find any motivation, the incentive is motivation enough but I just can't write anything :( I'm at £68, so only 12 away from target but I think it's going to be hard to make it.

I feel so unprepared for xmas, I have tomorrow and Sunday left both DD's grandparents come down to visit her, and they don't go until the 23rd so I doubt I'll get much done then. Must try and finish wrapping everything tomorrow apart from her trike and stuff I need to put together xmas eve, then I might feel a little more prepared!

I already have a spreadsheet thanks Elysia, I just copy it each year and then wipe out all the amounts and start again xx

Finally got hold of YD, she is now going out with ExBF again lol, they had been together nearly a year when they split up a couple of months ago. Think on her part it was a case of grass is greener lol. I am glad as me and OH both like the lad and he always walks her right home in the evenings no matter what the weather is like out there. Its also good because I made up a photobook for her a few months ago before they split up and its got a couple of pics of them together in it. I have it wrapped for Xmas but was a bit worried it might upset her if the photos were in there but now it wont matter.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes - it really means alot to me

I have had a nice day. I went to ds2's school carol service this morning which was nice if a bit too long! ds1 was in the cathedral this afternoon with school but I thought to leave the dog all day would be a bit much so gave it a miss

the concert in Durham cathedral on Wednesday evening was lovely

we have had snow today but not really lying. OH's school closed early though as it was quite heavy there. he went back to school this week on a staggered start so we are getting back to normal

rufus glad you managed to get in touch with your dd.

the boys are now on holiday so am looking forward to the rest and no school runs for a while

sorry to hear about all the problems with cars - as others have said you never have any money when you have a car even when they run smothly.

Rufus - thank goodness for that. I'm glad she's OK. If ever you want this one - you know where it is. ;)

Bunbun - I'm really glad you've had a good day, and I'm really, really glad that OH is back at work, and things will get back to normality for you. It'll take time, but you'll get there. Things are looking up for the new year. Hurray.x

Hi all - I know, I know I went awol again. Had a nightmre couple of weeks tbh.
My parents went away on their 3 week hols and I took over phoning my Gran each night who is 87 with Alziemers and pics dementia but still lives at home with carers 3 times a day. I phone each night to check she is ok. Well 1/2 way through their hols I got a call from a carer to say Gran had shingles and they needed to admit her to hospital. She was refusing to go but docs said she would have to, they called paramedics who then called me as the docs had failed to mention the mental health problems so they had no legal way to force her and she was still refusing. I was told i would have to agree to have her sectioned which would be for 6 months if she didn't agree to go in. I agreed to this as I knew without it as she was by now unable to keep even fluid down she would die. Phoned to make arrangements for someone to be with her until social workers arrived to be be told then by paramedic that he had convinced her to go. Anyway if poss to make this story a bit shorter she has been in for 9 days and I have been on top of working full time, phoning everyday and going up with dh to visit, a 3 hour round trip and sorting things out to have others visit too when I couldn't, taken on everything as didn't want to contact my parents and ruin their hols, something my elder sister made no bones about telling me i was wrong to do. Her charming words "On your head be it, and I hope you can handle the s**t when they are angry with you for it". She has apologised since but I am still angry to get that when she has visited once and not phoned there at all yet she is only 20 mins away from the hospital!! Anyway my parents get back tomorrow and they now know and i think are fine about me not telling them. We have been told Gran cannot go home ever and will go into a home, something i know is for the best but i know she didn't want with a passion. I am still chatting with social workers to give them an idea of things ready for meetings when Mum and Dad are back. It has been awful and I know my health is now suffering because of the stress of it all. On the plus side the weight I'm losing through stress is perfect for christmas hey!!??

I am sorry to off load like this, hardly seems fair when I haven't been around for any of you guys for a while. Dh is out, i've had some flavoured vodka and just getting a bit upset. Silly sod!!

I'll read back properly on what you have all been up too now. I know when scanning through I misses a couple of birthdays so I hope you both had a great day xx
