Emma - if you pm me your email address - I can send you the spread sheet ready for next year. It has a sheet for how much you earn on each site, plus a sheet for your earnings each month and then it tallies itself up over the year. There is also a page for presents, who you've bought how much it cost, how much you've saved (by buying it in the sale etc) and it will even work out if you're money neutral or not. Clever ehhh? Michelle and I came up with it between us, about a month ago. I'm really pleased with it and think it's really good, even if I do say so myself. ;)

Legend - DS was so sweet. He's got such a cheeky smile. Bless. I got to 6 minutes and it kept sticking, but I perservered and it went ok. I love the funky rocking angels too, and that little one who was shouting instead of singing. LOL.

belated happy birthday wishes for yeserday,
Hi everyone, thanks for the Birthday wishes, you lot are so lovely it has cheered me up no end. Only hubby and my mum remembered my birthday, brothers and sisters haven't even contacted me to say happy birthday at all, I know it's selfish to want all of my family to remember, I'm not bothered about cards or presents just some acknowledgement as I always make a big fuss of everyone else on their Birthdays :( It upsets me as I do wonder why I make the effort to see everyone else smile, I could probably cut a huge chunk out of my 2012 budget :(

I totally agree with you, your the same as me, I remember everyones bday in the family, with ours its present off mum + dad, then me, and another off Miss Hooide. Yet this yr when my 40th, Id invited aunty and her children, + 1 hubbby, other +1, (we were paying the meals), the Aunt never replied, one cousin wouldn't go as I hadn't invited their children, other no answer, I didn't even get a card, it annoyed me, not from the point of wanting a present, but a card doesn't hurt. Def a culling on bday list!
I wont harp on about everything else that has happened today, but I think I will be glad to turn in for the night. Sadly hubby is out this evening so I'm on my todd looking afer dd alone tonight.

Sorry to hear about the car troubles cornish, Chel is very right, cars cost the earth to keep on the road, if it's not one thing it's another. My first car broke on my very first outing in it and cost £400 to fix! My car has been ok for the last year, no repairs needed but this year I know the ball joint will be shot so £400 for that and anything else that come up on the mot. Chel, hope it doesn't cost too much to fix everything, how did you come to have no speedo? Have vicions of you driving along and suddenly clunk, somehow your dials are gone hehe.

Children + cars u never have money - def agree!
Well done on 1000nd and 1001st post cornish and legend, blimey we can chat can't we!

Foxy hope OH is ok? How did he break his hand? just what you need before Christmas, hope he has a speedy recovery. I'm glad you could re-arrange your exam it must be a relief to not have to squeeze in the revision too.

Well done everyone on your money making, you are all doing so well with chow and dooU, surveys, bargains and everything else we do. Proud of you all.

Hello to all I have missed

I would like that legend, especially when OH is on nights and I am home alone of an evening. It always seems to work out that the nights he is at work I come on here and there is no one about. Then the nights I dont get on here because he is home, I come on in the morning and there are pages of chat lol.

May be we should have our own FB group next year like the sewing thread do or something. They started that one up so that we could tell each other about things we have made for selling and promoting our shops and things without getting into trouble on here etc. Plus photos and things.

Rufus that is an absolutely brilliant idea, as both mum and I do odd bits of knitting, mainly babies cardigans, and to be entirely honest no idea about going through facebook, a thrifty gifty one were all there for support for each other. xx

I think it's a great idea actually. I'm not technical and wouldn't know where to start. Do we have any volunteers to set one up? ;) Do you think it ought to be a closed group and newbies can be invited to join?

That way we could also give more details and post pics easier etc - I have family who I know who read my posts, so I'm a bit wary about posting some things. ;)

(I'm terrible at logging in to FB - there is so many other things going on, I forget, but I really need to keep in touch more with family and friends, so it would make me more likely to check, if thrifty was on there too. )

ETA: My chow got updated - I did get £10 from the pf, and my £7 has been added. :D

If I can help in anyway re facebook group will, least technical person, but if it was started as a closed group, based on the thrifty threads, without sounding daft, we all know each other, even thou its the virtual world, but to me its like an extended family.
Esp if you can have a 2nd account as you could choose a completely different name etc, - my facebook have to have it locked, and becafeful who I say yes to (becuase of his lordship + the situ), but be like a fresh start.x

Sorry i'm filling the posts up...

Fun few days, took Miss Hoodie last night shopping yesterday, she is a crafy madam, I gave her £20 to get something for mum and dad and said there was £10 spare if there was anything she really wanted for them.
Started off the shopping trip well, hit the pub for tea, very mse as hers and dads meals, buy one get one for £1, then I pigged out!! steak and chicken combo - from a grill ngt menu, saved £1.50 from main menu price and drink was free.
Theres a wineyeard local to us and at xmas they have shop in the shopping centre, so dad decided he'd have some local cider, miss hoodie asks how much can she spend on him, said you've got £10 I've given u already, but add the extra £5 so he can have £15, she pipes up - you can have £5 to spend, I'll keep the tenner!! he spent £9 on him, then brought him a box of turkish delight from poundland.
mum - she brought her a tshirt from Evans - straight to the sale rail, £4 instead of £10, then some showergel set from Boots.

All got left to do is wrap last few presents, cds, etc, get 2 white tshirts ready for Miss Hoodies VW transfers (VW goodies from Bailey), few chocs for the stocking, - hit £1 shop on retail park. Presents are being dispatched, cards have gone.

We had miss Hoodies school play they did a take off on Snow White, she was in the choir, she was brilliant.

Had free dinner today - at the school - xmas dinner, govenerors + pta got invitied, dad took me, and we'd got plate ready as last yr was bring ur own, this yr they'd got some, but the head insisted dad stay as a thank you for the work he had done with the PTA.

One good thing came of it, (no not a new man), but was sat by one of the other govenerors, who happenss to be a minister, he's one of them that runs the youth club, Miss Hoodie goes to, have booked in for mum and dads golden wedsing not till jan 2013, but he said if i want a Sat, people booking 12mths in advance, be a lot lot cheaper than regustery office. That be my present to them.
To an extent we've had ties with the church, as my nan, she was quite religious and went there, she had her furneral there, i was baptised there, and Miss hoodie does youth club, so were off to church Sunday for carol service. xx

That's sounds a lovely gift Mum2one - what are they having, A blessing? The church DD sang at last night is our local one, me and my sisters were all Christened there and DD1 too, plus mum and Stepdad, and my sis got married there. Sad thing is they are pulling it down soon :( They are building a new church and attatching it to the side of DD2's new school - building is just starting but it will take 18 months.

It's lovely to see you posting hun. You should come over this side more often. ;) I know, I'm a fine one to talk, but you're like me, we think of our little groups as family don't we? and you're part of it, we miss you when you don't post.

Miss Hoodie is quite a character. DD2 saved up three months pocket money to buy pressies. All bought and paid for, and wrapped by herself. She keeps seeing things now, oh I wish I'd bought so and so that instead, so I have to buy that as well. Instead of one present each, we now have about four each off DD2 alone. Crafty wotsit - I can't complain though - she's so sweet. She's already planning on saving her next three lots of pocket money for my birthday present ..... in July.

Savvy - are you doing the all nighter at Boots.com tonight? I think I might just head to store first thing. DD goes into school at 8.20 in the morning. It takes five minutes to get to the shops, so I can be there waiting outside before the staff even go in. :rotfl:

If you are waiting up to order it online, good luck and I hope you get one. :)

Oh just had to come back and post, because I'll be in a rush in the morning.

BUNBUN - Have a lovely birthday tomorrow. You have a fab day hun, you deserve it. :)

  • Welcome Lucylou, jump right in and do join in and chat, we would love to you :)

Cornish, it's always the way isn't it, children always do the opposite of what you want just to make you giggle don’t they. Dd knows that when she is being naughty or cheeky she can make me giggle by doing something silly. I had that email too, hopefully that will take me up to another redeem this month, with the lack of moneymaking it is much needed. It's quite generous of them but it's supposed to be for the extra shopping we will be scanning. Not sure about anyone else but after Wednesday next week I won’t be going out anywhere until the new year (yes including the sales!).

Claros I love the idea of using a textured paper, I didn't order one but I think I will keep this in mind and do some research and get a map printed up for my granddad myself and use your idea of the paper, such a simple but effective way to do it, thanks hun. Thank you for the happy birthday wishes, my mum did get in touch and then got in touch with one of my brothers and my younger sister who promptly popped on msn to wish me a happy birthday feeling rather guilty I think bless them. Sorry to hear about the carp bingo site, I don't bother as you can’t hide the chat and it irritates me lol.

Hope the nativity was lovely Michelle, you should treat yourself as you have done so well but do remember to relax over Christmas we will all be here to motivate each other on Boxing Day ;)

Elysia, such a simple idea to wait until she was sleeping but it never occurred to me, it really is like a covert mission. I hope your charms turn out well, they are expensive but completely worth it, their fingerprints will never be that small again.

Glad to see you around Boatgirl, glad Tabi is doing well. Focus on having a lovely family Christmas, money making can wait and they grow up so quick. Money making has stopped my end too until the New Year :)

I'm really sorry to hear your bad news mum2three, I know it may not be much comfort but I strongly believe things happen for a reason and a great job may be around the corner. Try to enjoy Christmas and worry about things after, you have worked hard to pay for it and you have your family with you xx

Your charm bracelet sounds lovely Rufus, such a lovely idea to have the initials and so personal too. I love the idea. My charm cost £45 and 10% cash back which I don't think is too bad as it's all handmade but if you had quite a few to do it would soon add up.

Well done on the head start on Birthdays next year Emma, the signature idea is good to help motivate and keep track :)

Thanks mum2one, sometimes family can be a little thoughtless but I guess they all have so much going on. I'm lucky that I am not involved in the family politics although I don't talk to a couple of members of our family anymore. Sometimes the 'so and so' wasn't invited so I won’t go or such things are such a shame, especially as family should want to spend time with you :( How are you getting on with your course hun, I have fallen right behind again with mine in the run up to Christmas but I passed the first tma. Hope yours is going well, we miss seeing you over here hun xx

Legend, how cute is Connor!? Bless him, he looked like he really enjoyed hi first play, well done!

Elysia I am giving the S&G a miss this year, it's all lovely products but I ended up with two sets last year and have barely made a dent in the first set. I have way too many cosmetics lying around so I definitely need use those up before buying more. I'm trying martin’s mantra, do I need it and can I afford it. Sadly I do not need it so it's a no from me this time. It's taken me half an hour to reply to everyone, I best hit the hay! Good luck I hope you manage to get your S&G set, I think you would be fine at 9am, last few years they had them all day on the first day at my local, none left after day one though.

And.... HAPPY BURTHDAY BUNBUN, have a wonderful day and hope it is full of magic and surprises xxx

Savvy - Typical after staying up all night two years running, I've got up and can add the S&G to my basket no problem this morning. DD wants this one so I think I'll hit the shops anyway. That was a brilliant price for the charm. I was looking on notonthehighstreet here's the one I wanted - £140 for two names. but I found a similar one somewhere else for £60. :)

Morning everyone and happy birthday again Bunbun. (not as rushed this morning, I got straight up, instead of putting the alarm on snooze five times) ;)

Didn't wake up to ten foot (4 inches) of snow that they predicted, I did do my shopping last night though, just in case. So after getting DD's thing, I'm staying in and keeping warm.

Morning all! Elysia I believe the child shouting instead of singing was infact DS! The video messed up somewhere and sound is out of sync but you here the words being shouted and then see DS's mouth move! He was hilarious all the parents laughed at him and kept looking over at me and grinning! lol

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUNBUN:bdaycake:Hope you have a lovely day!

Well happy with the S&S triple points but totally agree with you Savvy I wont be doing any extra shopping either after the big Christmas food shop next week and that wont be that big as I have been buying bits here and there!
